Chapter One

1051 Words
Ralia's POV. “How much damage was done?” I asked Nikolai, my beta who was standing at the door with a tight frown. “Five men were brutally attacked, and they stole some weed from the warehouse,” he replied, making my fist curl by my sides. The Bloodreign Pack and the Silver Oath Pack–my pack had been at war for many years. We were the protectors of humanity, and they were the cursed breed who didn't know how to live with the word called “peace.” Those bloody biker wolves had been on a roll with the attacks lately, and that was because we stopped their annual racing tournament. How could I not? When all it did was result in dead bodies, raising alarms to the authorities of the humans. They were too reckless, and it was high time I gave them a taste of their own medicine. “Burn them all,” my wolf growled, and I nodded at the idea. “Blow up their bikes, twenty-five bikes to be exact.” I mind-linked Nikolai, who grinned and moved into action immediately. Since they hurt five of my men, I'll destroy twenty-five bikes. Perfect payback. With Nikolai out of the room, I picked up my gun, shoving it in my leather pants as I stepped out of the room. I needed to sort out business with a very stubborn fellow. I popped into my Escalade, watching X dash towards the car to take the driver's seat. He always knew what to do, even without me saying a word. He was the most diligent omega I had. When I reached the alley, the area reeked of cigarettes and alcohol and the moment I plopped out of my car, all eyes turned to me. Some started running away, while the others who didn't know me carried on gambling. I walked past them, stalking into the deeper parts of the alley. And there he was. My stubborn little customer. The moment he saw me, he quickly rose up from his chair, wanting to run away, but I pulled out my gun, making him freeze. “Do I have to remind you of my money?” I huffed, glaring daggers at him. He swallowed hard, wiping sweat off his forehead with shaky hands and rubbing it on his brown pants. “No no, I was–” “No excuses. Bring out the money, or you'll cease to stand on two feet,” I pointed my gun to his knees, moving it back to his head. “I haven't made any sales!” he cried out. “That's not what the new wristwatch says,” I said, my eyes dropping to the diamond wristwatch circled around his big wrist. This motherf**ker knew I wasn't a fan of giving out goods on credit, but because of his previous record of buying weed in large quantities, I trusted him. And now, it's been two months since I gave him a hundred thousand dollars worth of weed, and he has yet to repay me. My patience had run out. He either brought out the money, or he'd not walk out of here. “Madame, listen. I need till the end of the week and I promise, I'll have your–” I released my finger on the trigger, sending a bullet right past his face, and I watched how his big head snapped to the side, his life flashing before his eyes. I usually never missed my targets. That was a warning. Without uttering any more words, he slowly started ransacking the drawers in his desk, pulling out wads of cash until the drawers grew empty. “There, fif–fifty thousand dollars, I'll get the rest by the end of tomorrow. Please,” he scratched his head, looking frustrated, like he wasn't ready to give up the money. I lowered my arm, moving closer as I cupped his chin, looking him in the eye. “I need the rest in two hours. Don't make me use this gun on your skinny body,” I grunted, pushing him out of my grip. X packed up the cash while I headed back to the escalade, fixing my gun in my pants. Dad was right. Sometimes you have to make the humans feel fear before they succumb to your needs. X soon arrived in the car, and he roared the engine to life and just then, I got a text from Nikolai. “Mission accomplished.” Those two words made my heart flutter with immeasurable joy. But as I took a deep breath, my wolf growled, making me stiff. I tried breathing again, but that sent a jarring jolt of pain through my rib cage, making me hold my breath. And then a wave of sadness pulsed through me, causing tears to gather at the brim of my eyes. It was that strange feeling again. I've heard stories of being emotionally linked to your mate, but I was the last person I'd thought it'd happen to. Hell, I've not even met my fated mate before, so why could I already connect to their feelings? Perhaps I was overthinking it, but every time I got back at the biker wolves for their stupid attack, I got this feeling. As seconds dragged into minutes, I was back in the mansion and I met my dad on his seat that was sculpted like a throne. He was only there whenever something important came up. My pulse quickened as the sharp jolts of pain began to fade, and I could finally breathe properly. However, the atmosphere in the sitting room felt ominous. Maybe I was just assuming because of how dark the area looked. Dad's eyes flashed yellow and returned to the normal brown orbs, and that told me all I needed to know. Something was actually wrong going on and it bothered my dad. “Dad, what's wrong?” I asked, moving closer. Dad kept his eyes fixed on me, “Alpha Ralia, a prophecy came for you.” My heart skipped a beat, and my wolf stepped forward, making my claws elongate. Anxiety pooled inside me, “What is it about?” But when my dad parted his lips to speak, the lights suddenly went out.
