My first thought on waking up was that I wished I hadn’t. Unconsciousness had been suiting me just fine. Thank you very much... That hurts... Everything hurt. My stomach, my head, my throat. Even my fingernails were throbbing. I would have groaned if I'm capable but it was all beyond me. Slowly rolling over, I nudged my head under the pillow, finding some small solace in the darkness there. But there's something different. Which was when it hit me. This wasn’t my bed. This wasn’t my room. And I had no f*****g clue where I was. I spread my arms. Then my legs. Didn’t even get close to the edge. The covers felt crisp and light and smooth against my skin, the way only really expensive stuff does. Certainly not like my duvet and inevitably unwashed sheets. Against my skin? Oh f**k
