A Few Days to Recharge

Amber spent Sunday texting Tina and Jacob. She still hasn’t let onto Tina exactly what Jacob does for a living. She doesn’t need to know everything. She did let her know about having s*x in the plane and the conversation that followed after. As excited for Amber as Tina was, she also threw an error caution about how quickly things seem to be moving. Amber understood where she was coming from completely but it was too late. She was in too deep. There was no going back.

She also did some of her lesson planning for the week. But she didn’t get a lot done between text from Tina and Jacob. Jacob was telling her about the neighborhoods. He was checking out. That was pretty close by within 10 minutes of course they were expensive neighborhoods, but we both know he can afford it. He seems to be interested in her opinion of styles and the type of bathroom.

The whole day seemed to be filled up with giggling at her phone like a little teenager. How can she be so wrapped up in a man so fast and a man that is a criminal at that? How can she just not care? I guess it’s because he is a classic mobster. He doesn’t mess around with drugs, and he doesn’t let anybody that works for him do the same. He only runs gambling establishments and

offers businesses protection. He was very transparent with her about it. He only harmed people that were in the racket not in a simple standards somehow that makes it OK.

She got to bed at a decent time so she could be up for work on Monday. What day was a good day the kids did well it’s getting to the end of the school year. It’s May. There’s only maybe two weeks of school left. And about 10 o’clock in the morning, one of the secretaries came knocking on her door. She opened it up to see her holding a bouquet of flowers in a vase. Who won the whole class there was a whole room eruptive in oooh’s.

“ do you have a boyfriend, Ms Spencer? Did he send you those?” one of the boys in the back asked. “ I don’t know Tommy I’ll have to read the card.” she replied. When she pulled out the note it read. “ someone as beautiful as you deserves something beautiful. So here are these flowers they still don’t measure up to their owner.” - Jacob. She shut the card and put it back with a smile. “ it is isn’t it?” Tommy asked. “ it is Tommy.” again the room filled with Oooh’s.

By the time lunch rolled around, she made her way to the cafeteria where Tina and the secretary that delivered the flowers happen to be in.” I only read the card to see who it went to who is this Jacob, Amber?” Angela asked. “ He’s my….well he’s…” Tina and interrupts”” “ it’s her new man. And I think they both are in deep already.” Amber against the blush. Angela’s face lifting up. “ spill it. I wanna hear more about this guy. It’s finally got you out of this slump.” as Tina and Angela both sit down and gestures for me to do the same. “ well his name is Jacob. He owns his own business a very successful one that is, and he’s been a gentleman, but not too much like a gentleman if you know what I mean.” “ oh I do know but I wanna know more. how new is this?” Angela retorts. “ well I guess I could say this started about two weeks ago, but the big part happened over this weekend. Three times once in a plane.” Angela covered her mouth in shock “ in the air?!” Amber laughed way too hard at that. “ no it was a two person plane. He took me up for a ride and we got down….we got down.” Both lady were smiling ear to ear. “ i’m so happy for you!” Tina squeaks and then she turns to Angela “ she told me this guy is so rich that he is going to buy a place in the suburbs just so he doesn’t have as long commute to get to her.” Angela’s jaw landed on the table. “ that’s pretty rich. What’s his last name?” Amber was not ready to answer that question especially not at her workplace. Luckily she didn’t have to before she could speak the bell ring. She was back to class.

By the time she got off work at 3:30 she had a text message on her phone from Jacob.

Jacob: I found the perfect place. I want you to come see it. I’ll be waiting at your house when you get here and we can order some to go food after we’re done.

Amber: sounds good. I’m on my way home now. 😘

Jacob as promised was in her driveway off the side so she could pull it in the garage. walks over to her and wraps his arms around her, kind of picking her up and kissing her. “ I don’t like being away from you for more than 24 hours. It seemed to kill me.” With this big mischievous smile, she looked back at him “ well I gotta be gone sometimes or else. How am I gonna know how much you miss me.” he kissed her again for that. “ let me go take my stuff in and then we can go.” “Okay just don’t take too long.” he says with a wink, she was back out in no time at all. they climb in the car and off down the road until they get to a big gate and it opens one. Jacob puts the code in as I drive down the driveway and reach the house. Amber can’t believe her eyes.
