Just a quick recap from the previous last chapter! There won't be daily updates, for now, please bear with me. I’m busy writing Checkmate for the Stary 111 competition. Please comment on the chapters as you read. I will be leaving in each chapter a name of a song that you can listen to while you read. These are the songs that helped me while writing. “Mom, you're ready?” Rosie asked. “In a minute baby,” I said behind the closed door. I fixed my hair and removed the tears from my eyes. I have to be strong today. I have to be a mother and not a bodyguard. Rosie needs this. She needs to be a child, and I need to start remembering all the promises I made a long time ago. To my parents and Griffin. “You have to promise me that Rosie will never feel alone, that she will always be loved and have support. You have to promise me that.” Griffin’s voice creeps into my consciousness. Why would all these memories creep up now? I need to keep it together for Rosie. “Mom, someone is at the door,” Rosie yelled. She knows she’s not allowed to open the door. Lucas is not here yet. I can’t believe school is starting so early. Maybe I should ask Lucas to stay in. The cottage is still open for him. “Okay let's go. It's probably aunty Dawn that wants to see how you look.” I smiled my eyes already puffy from all the crying. Rosie grabbed her bag and smiled like a typical school child. I opened the door and my heart nearly stopped. It can’t be. No, no, no. It's not possible. “How? Who?” I blinked in repeat. My pulse is racing and my blood is racing from my heart to my brain, and I feel like I’m going to faint any minute. “Griffin?”
