Chapter 7 Amanda Amanda was thrilled that their costume had so easily convinced the goblins; it never would have fooled humans, but goblins perceived things differently. She was ecstatic to be in their cave, their inner sanctum, a place she’d never been allowed before. It was as good as anything she’d imagined. There were unguarded conversations all around them, so many she had a hard time keeping track of them. “Psshnnnn shoot hannass,” a squirrel goblin said to a rabbit goblin. There was a bit of a mispronunciation, perhaps she’d better call it a differing pronunciation, caused by the goblin’s large front teeth, but even taking the over-pronunciation of the s sounds, she didn’t understand the phrase itself.
