Chapter 7 Chasers
We had been riding our new found bikes for almost 10 miles, and I still couldn’t believe our luck. The highway was wide open, the cars were crammed to the side against the rails, it was as if something had bulldozed right through the middle of the road. Which begs the question, what could have been behind it? Was it another car, like for example a bus or a bulldozer? Or was it another hell-spawned creature, like that Puma or something? Whatever it was, it reminds of what happened in Olean. That catastrophic scene was still very vivid to me, the forest fire, the ruins of the buildings, and the colossal trench in the middle of the city. I wonder if the fire has somehow stopped.
