Chapter Twenty-Two Ryder hadn’t seen his captor again since he’d left with the message Ryder gave him for Lacie. Thinking about his girl was what kept him trying to manipulate the chains on his wrists. He had to tell himself he was doing something, even if that something wasn’t showing any progress. The clang of the lock was his first clue that anyone was coming back to him. The light came on just a split second before the door opened.
