Training and a bully

1563 Words
Mckenzie That night we joined the Blessed Moon pack and sat around the bonfire with Maggie and Luke along with some of his friends. We learned that Luke is a year older than us, while Maggie is the same age as us, which confirmed my initial impression from when we saw her this morning. Luke and his friends acted similarly when they found out what happened to us in the Blue Hilltop pack. They approached Theo and me, each taking turns to hug us tightly. Eventually, Theo became upset due to the excessive hugging. I mindlinked Maggie to ask if this was normal. She sighed dramatically and pointed at Uncle Richard and his Beta Max, who were also crying and hugging Mum like Luke and his friends. "This is normal; I think Luke gets it from Dad and his friends," Maggie said aloud, staring at Luke and his friends before we sat down on a log. I wanted to talk again. I love mindlinking Theo, but linking with multiple people is exhausting. As I looked at the celebrating crowd, an idea occurred to me. "Hey Maggie, can your dad, Alpha, command me to talk?" I asked. She spit out her drink, whipped her head around, and stared at me as if I were crazy for suggesting I force myself to speak. Theo comes back over to us as Luke and his Friends were talking to him trying to get to know Theo better. Theo looked at our mum and uncle before shaking his head. He then glanced at Maggie, who informed him that Luke and their dad often behave like that when they think no one is watching, and that the Gamma family and the Beta family are similar. "You mean to tell me that all of them act this way?" Theo asked. Maggie pointed to her father and Max, who were both hugging our mother, tearing up, while Aunt Mary laughed at their actions. "Oh god," Theo muttered, glancing at Luke and his group. “I thought they were bad enough,” he said with a shudder. “Yeah, Dad acts tough but he's a big softie. When training the pack or in battle, though, he's as ruthless as any alpha,” Maggie remarked. "Are you sure you want Dad to command you to speak?" she asked. I nodded. We approached Aunt Mary, who smiled and asked, “Are you both having fun tonight?” We shook our heads, and I pointed towards Luke and his friends heading our way before looking back at Mum. "The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree; they both behave in this manner, and it is humorous at times. However, I sometimes wish they would stop," she says with a chuckle before calling over our mother. Once our mother reaches us, Maggie explains what I want to happen. Unexpectedly, Uncle Richard picks up both Theo and me and expresses his emotions similarly to how he did with our mother, saying "My poor niece and nephew." I tap him on the shoulder and point to the ground, indicating that he should put us down, which he does. Uncle Richard looks at me uncertainly before he turns his head to Mum, asking for permission. She nods her head at me, tears welling up in her eyes, as Max pulls her into his embrace. "I want to talk to everyone again and not just through mindlinking," I tell Uncle Richard and Mum. "Now, Mckenzie, if you resist the alpha command, it may cause discomfort. I just want you to be aware of that," Uncle Richard informs me as I return his smile and nod in acknowledgment. "Alright, let's proceed; remain calm and you will be fine," he advises as I take a deep breath and steady myself. "I, Richard Donald, command you to speak, Mckenzie Donald," he asserts. However, I do not feel any impact and look at him, bewildered. I attempt to speak, but no words emerge. "What happened? I didn’t even feel the command," I sighed in frustration, noting that it did not work at all. He replied, "It’s okay. It just means that no alpha command can affect you, but I'm amazed it doesn't work on you now." He mumbled the last part to himself before turning to Theo. "Theo, may I try the command on you to see if you can ignore it?" he asked. "Yes, certainly. I don't see any harm in trying," Theo responded. However, the same thing occurred; both Theo and I ignored the alpha command. "Remarkable. I am eager to see what your wolves will be like when you are older," he commented, making us both smile with pride. "You will both begin training tomorrow morning at 5 AM," he informed us. The next morning, we arrived at the training grounds and observed various age groups undergoing training. We approached our uncle and a man standing beside him, who introduced himself as David, the Gamma of the pack. David had dark sandy blonde hair and forest green eyes, along with a very handsome face. They explained the training routine, which lasts for approximately an hour and a half. "Have you both trained in the Blue Hilltop pack?" David inquired, to which we both shook our heads. "Our father wouldn’t let us train, and if he caught us, he would hit us," Theo explained. David calls over a woman named Thera, who has golden blonde hair, blue eyes, and olive skin. As she approaches, David hugs her and kisses her cheek, introducing her as his mate who will help us train. Thera asks if we have any training experience, and we shake our heads. She suggests starting with stamina training to build strength. Thera explains that every morning we do ten laps around the pack territory, followed by muscle exercises like sit-ups and planks, then sparring, and finally breakfast—something I'm looking forward to since I ate little at last night's bonfire. We line up with others, and Maggie introduces us to her friends Kobe, Chloe, and Anne. We finally did the ten laps around the territory and my muscles are sore and tired, but we have to the other excises before we can eat. After training, Theo and I were exhausted and dragged ourselves to the crowded dining room for breakfast. I collapsed at a table until Luke and his friend Travis brought me food. I thanked them as Theo and Maggie joined us to discuss training. Using mindlink or signing, I shared my thoughts with Theo, who relayed them to the group. I later asked Luke to help me get stronger, and he agreed, mentioning it would boost my confidence. Theo and I went home and heard mum talking in the kitchen. Theo called out, "Mum, we are home," and we discovered Max having coffee with her. I signed hello to Max, which mum translated for him. He said hello back. I told mum via mindlink that I'm going to shower before school and will train with Luke afterward. She told me to have fun, and that extra training would be good. I waved goodbye to Max and headed upstairs. At school, I had classes with Theo, Maggie, Kobe, Anne, and Chloe, who were friendly and nice. There was no bullying about my quietness. However, during lunch, a group of popular girls approached me when I entered the cafeteria with Theo. “Heard around school you are our mute” she said I was taken back by how rude she said it but Theo was quick to react to her then I was “Oh and you are the school’s lapdog are you running over here to pick on the new kids huh” he said to her which made her go red in the face, she has dark brown hair and her face is caked with makeup which makes her look like a clown. “Do you know who I am? I’m the queen of this school and my boyfriend is the Alpha’s son” she said smugly as she tries to stare down at us “Hey Luke is this your girlfriend? I thought you were saving yourself for your mate” Theo calls out to Luke as he walks to the lunch line, “Nah, she isn’t my girlfriend, and I wouldn’t touch her with a ten foot pole” he says deadpan and he looks at the girl in front of us “Why are you picking on my cousin’s Melina” he says and she looks like she swallowed a frog. She starts to use the crocodile tears before saying “I came up to welcome them and they started to be rude to me” Melina says as she looks towards us but we have dealt with this sort of thing in our old pack and you can smell that she is lying through her teeth “Oh really, well I have been with my cousins all week with my friends, so do you want to try that lie again” Luke counters her as he stares her down “If I see you or hear you make trouble for them you will be in trouble I’ll like to see how my parents deal with you then hmm” Luke continues before her face goes pale and she runs back to her table.
