IrisDr. Brian Coleman probably did not get more than three or four hours of continuous sleep a night. Around this time, Brian developed a painful "tick" in some of his muscles. The doctor, who reviewed his case, decided that Brian was suffering from a convulsive disorder. He was put on some very strong medicine and informed him that he needed a good night's sleep every night on a regular schedule. It was 3 a.m. Brian had been having dreams. The dreams were much more intensely disturbing.
In his dream, he saw a woman racing down a forest trail, and behind her, Brian was holding a sharp knife. The woman unexpectedly came to a halt, turned around, and stared at him. "Oh, what a horrible face! It's dripping with blood. The hair was growing longer and the brain was shrinking."
