A wife only on paper The whole way home, Emilia didn't talk to Adrian. She didn't know what she was meant to feel anymore, not because she was angry, even though she had every right to be. He had brought her into his business world this morning as if she were an accessory. He had stood up for her this afternoon as if she were important. And she felt more lost than ever this evening. The city lights stretched across the windows like gold ribbons as the automobile glided into the lowering night.
