CHAPTER 5- STOP RIGHT THERE

AMELIA'S POV
"A job," I whispered.
How come I never thought about that? This is the best thing that could keep me occupied and happy.
At least staying with people won't be bad. I get to leave the house every day, not staying indoors.
Wow, that is why I said I wanted to talk to someone I know.
"You are such a darling Emma."
"I thought about this, but I waved it off. I thought it was too early to start working since I just came back from the land of the dead. "
We both laughed uncontrollably when I said that.
" I am a genius then." She said with pride in her voice.
" Yeah, you are a genius. "
" So how do I go about it? "
" How do I start looking for a job? "
" You know I don't know anything about New York anymore, so you have to lead the way for me. "
I said smiling.
"Hmmm."
"I saw a job vacancy online at a big company, but I don't know the position "
" I can check for you now, so we can find out how to go about it and when you can go for the interview. "
She said, while taking out her phone to check if the job was still available.
I sat down waiting for her. I was very excited, thank goodness I called her.
At least I got something before going home.
I still have someone that cares for me. I just hope she doesn't betray me.
I said, smiling sadly while looking at her.
"I Have seen it, Amelia? "
She said excitedly.
" Is it still vacant? "
I asked her curiously.
" Yes, the interview is tomorrow. "
She said, looking at her phone for more information.
" Wow, then I still have a chance to apply. "
" Yeah, you need to apply right now, so you can go for the interview tomorrow."
She said to me.
" What is the name of the company? "
I asked her.
"THE WILLS ENTERPRISES "
She replied.
" Wow, that's the biggest and richest company in New York. "
" Have heard about it before "
" Have seen the company in newspapers and on TV. "
I said to her.
" Yes, that's true. It's the wealthiest company in New York, and I'm surprised they've opened the position for everyone to apply."
" Because I heard that they only employ people who graduated from prestigious colleges."
She said to me.
"Yeah, that's why I was surprised when you mentioned the company's name. "
I told her.
" Then we should use this opportunity and see if you can get the job."
She said to me, and it was true.
I won't let this opportunity slip away. At least, working there will earn me some respect. I've always loved the company every time I hear about it."
I heard their boss is a bit arrogant, but that won't discourage me from working there.
For this revenge to work I have to make money, so it can be easy to get these people.
Even though I know the money I am going to make from working there won't be enough, I will start from there and see how it goes.
I said to myself.
" That's true, Emma, so what do I do now? You know I don't know what to do. It's my first time applying for a
Job."
"That's why I'm here, so don't worry."
"It's easy, just log onto their website, fill in some necessary information about yourself, that's all, and then you apply "
" Then tomorrow you go for the interview. They will call you if you are accepted. "
"OK, I will do that when I get home." I told her, feeling very satisfied.
Then we sat down, just looking at people passing by, going about their business.
We didn't say anything to each other, we were just enjoying the moment we lost these past years.
Then I decided to break the ice.
" So you now have a coffee shop. "
I asked her.
It has always been her dream to own a beautiful coffee shop with a lot of customers in it.
I am happy she has finally achieved it.
"Yes, Amelia, when I was done with my studies, I worked at a coffee shop to learn how to start mine. "
" When I was done learning everything, I decided to start mine and with time, it improved. Now I am rich. "
She said and we both laughed uncontrollably because she said 'Rich.'
" Wow, I am happy for you." I told her, feeling genuinely happy.
" Thanks, bestie."
She responded to me.
" Why did you remember all of a sudden? "
She asked me.
" Look, there's a coffee shop in the front of the dance studio. "
I said to her and she looked.
" That's why I remember you saying you were at your coffee shop, and it was because of that you came here late "
" Yeah, that's true "
" Thanks for asking
" You're Welcome "
I said to her,
It has been a long time since I felt this way.
I said to myself.
" It's late already, Emma, we should get going."
I said to her.
" Yes, we should start going. "
She said standing up
" I will just go home from here because I am sure my workers must have gone home. "
"OK." I said to her.
We stood up from where we were sitting and started walking, so we could get a cab that would take us home.
" Amelia, where do you stay? "
She asked me from the back where she stood, I was already on the road looking for a cab.
" Do you want to come to my house? "
" Yes, or don't you want me to come?"
" I want you to explain everything to me. You know you didn't say anything. "
"I didn't want to ask because we are in an open place, and it's not safe for you to stay outside for long."
" Okay, you can come, it's not a problem. "
" If I get home, I will text you the address, so you can come when you are ready "
" Good, I will remind you if I don't see it by tomorrow. "
We were still discussing, when all of a sudden a car passed by and splashed water all over me and I shouted.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!!!"
