SEBASTIAN'S P O V
Getting to work, I was still very angry at what happened on our way coming.
I looked at my wristwatch, checked the time, and sighed because I was late for work already.
Even though I'm the boss and I owe nobody any explanation, I hate coming to work late, because I'm not doing anything with my time other than to come to work and do my business.
I have no one to check up on me except my sister Anastasia and also my Mom, but it's better my Mom doesn't call me, because she blarb's a lot.
And she only calls me to ask me about;
'When am I meeting your girlfriend?'
Questions I hate to hear because I'm not sure she will get that anytime soon. I mean I don't even like anyone and I hate being close to women except the two women in my life. My Mom and my sister.
And also someone I have been meaning to see even though I don't know anything about her.
I wanted to go home after the meeting with my investors, but I changed my mind. That's why I got myself entangled with that lady who lacks manners.
We arrived at my company, and my P.A. Steve stepped down, opening my car door for me, I then got out.
Leaving my driver to park my car in a secure and well-positioned spot, designed for only my car.
Steve my P. A trailed after me and we got inside my company and when my workers saw me coming some immediately went to their position.
They all greeted me.
"Good Morning Sir."
I just nodded and walked past them, I entered my personal elevator to my office on the top floor of the building.
I didn't have the energy to shout at anyone, but I will have to deal with them always gossiping and turning my company upside down anytime I am not around, because I know they never expected me to come to work today again.
I got to my office, removed my suit, and hung it on the back of my chair before sitting down.
I was not yet settled when a knock on my door made me pause from what I was doing.
'Who would that be?' I asked myself.
"Come in," I said to the person.
Then the door opened and it was Steve.
"What's the problem?" I asked him.
"Sorry sir, I wanted to bring in the files that need your signature." He responded.
"OK, drop them on my table, you can take them tomorrow."
"OK Sir, no problem." He uttered and left.
After he left, I still couldn't concentrate, my mind kept going to the crazy beautiful young girl I saw on my way to the office.
The time I looked directly at her eyes, my HEARTBEAT for her.
I have never felt that way before, except when I saw a beautiful young teen at a birthday party.
I shouted at myself then because she was too small for me, even though age is just a number, she was still a child to me.
But all of a sudden I couldn't find that little girl, no trace of her. So I forgot about her, but my heart still beats for her because she's my Meetcute.
She is the only girl I got close to and didn't get irritated by her presence even though we were fighting for the last cup of fine from the tray. I just liked how cute she looked, but I didn't see her again after that day.
Even though I don't know her that much, over the past seven years, I would have gotten a glimpse of her, or I would have accidentally run into her anywhere.
'I just don't know, I don't want to think about that day, it will only make me crave for something I know it's impossible to get.' I whispered to myself in a tired voice.
I just closed my eyes, turning my chair around while thinking.
'I just need to forget about her and what happened earlier, so I can concentrate on today's work. It is getting late already so I can go home. I am exhausted.' I mumbled to myself.
Then I decided to keep myself busy, so my mind wouldn't keep going back to the girl from seven years ago.
I picked up the files from my table that Steve had kept for me, so I would go through them and provide my signature.
Then I started going through them in silence, only the sound of my air condition and light noises from the road could be heard.
Another knock at my door diverted my attention from what I was seriously doing.
"Goodness!!"
" I bet it's Steve, he's the only one who knocks on my door the way he likes."
I said out loud to myself.
" Come in." He came inside like a good boy.
" Why are you distracting me? It seems I didn't give you enough work to keep you occupied," I said to him.
"I wanted to ask if you need anything," he asked.
That is what I like about him. He's punctual, even though he gets stupid at times, I prefer him to my other staff.
"No, it's late already, I will soon go home," I told him.
"And Sir, about the interview for tomorrow. Are we still going through with it?"
" I don't understand. What sort of question is that? "
" No…no, sir, the hiring manager said I should ask you."
I didn't have the time to argue with him because it was a waste of time. Sometimes he acts like a nerd, I said, looking at him with my side-eye.
"Just tell him it will commence tomorrow"
" And why didn't he come by himself to ask? " I asked him though I knew the answer to that question.
"He is afraid to step into my office." I said to myself, smiling inwardly.
"Sir, I'm sure you know the answer to that question." He said, bowing, so I wouldn't see his face.
"You can get out."
"And tell the driver to prepare the car. I am exhausted . I need to go home."
"OK, sir." He said and left.
I also arranged and left looking forward to tomorrow.
"Why do I feel relaxed and excited about coming to work tomorrow?"
