Scrolling through the surveillance videos on my phone, each frame felt like a dagger stabbing at my heart.
lt turned out that while l was enduring the rough days of morning sickness alone, Alpha Abe was at another private place, personally making soup for omega Alice.
He handled the ingredients as if they were treasures, even checking the temperature of the ladle three times.

omega Alice nestled into him playfully: "Your soup is, the best."
Meanwhile, my nutrition meals had always been ordered from outside by Gamma Audrey.
Memories played back in my mind like a movie reel.
That day, l suddenly craved sour plums and texted him about it.
Three hours later, he replied: “I'm in a crucial meeting, have Gamma Audrey bring you some.”
Now, watching the footage, l realized he was helping omega Alice pick out baby items at a high-end store.
He knelt down, gently caressing her slightly rounded belly:
“This little dress is adorable. if it's a girl, it'll look perfect oh her."
omega Alice smiled brightly: “ think it's going to be a boy, just as handsome as you.”
“lt doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl,he said, affectionately tapping her nose, “as long as it's our child, it'll be the best."
I clenched my fists unconsciously.
Each time l went for an exam alone.even Doctor Andy had asked, "where's Alpha Abe? Why are you here by yourself again, dear Luna Daphne?”
I'd smile and reply, “He's busy with work."
When the results came in, l excitedly messaged him: “it's a boy!”
His response was a terse “Good.”
All his tenderness was apparently reserved for someone else.
I opened another video clip.
He was with omega Alice for her prenatal checkup, glued to her side the entire time.
"Don't be scared, I'm right here," he said, holding her hand tightly. “if it hurts, just squeeze me."
With red-rimmed eyes, omega Alice nodded: “with you by my side, I’m not afraid of anything.”
But during my check-ups, all i ever heard was the cold hum of the machinery.
The most ironic part was the day of the gender reveal.
He said he'd be out of town on a business trip and told me not to worry
But in the video, he was lying beside omega Alice in the exam room, eyes locked on the ultrasound screen.
“it's a boy!”
As soon as Doctor Andy's words left his mouth, he kissed omega Alice's forehead in pure joy.
“Awesome.”
His eyes were misty,"We're having a son.
Omega Alice wiped away tears with a smile: “Do you think he'll look like you?”
“Absolutely.”
He tenderly rubbed her belly, “He's our child.”
I turned off my phone and stared out the window.
The sky was overcast, heavy with the threat of rain.
Just like the turmoil in my heart.
From the very start, I had been an outsider.
Every ounce of affection he showed omega Alice was genuine,
What little he gave me was merely a facade of indifference.
Doctor Andy walked in to change my bandage and hesitated when he saw my expression.
“Luna Daphne..”
“Just call me Daphne," l forced as mile.
From today onward, l won't be Luna anymore.
After a moment's hesitation, she finally spoke: “Just now, Alpha Abe and omega Alice were at the café downstairs."
"l know," l interrupted, "there's no need to say anything further."
I knew exactly what they were doing.
They were probably discussing names for the child who hadn't even been born yet.
Alpha Abe would certainly put his heart into it.
Just as he once promised me
But sadly, those promises were meant for someone else.
l picked up my phone and messaged Gamma Audrey again:
“Can you look up the transaction records from these past few years?”
After hurting me, he thought he could live lavishly off my money? Who does he think he is?
if he loves omega Alice so much, let him see whether his first love is as pure as he imagines.
Setting the phone down, l touched my flat stomach gently.
I'm sorry, baby.
Mama couldn't protect you.
But l will make sure those who hurt you pay dearly.
