I felt something leave me immediately as he said those words, and I knew that the bond we shared was instantly broken. I don't know what it was, but something felt odd, and I didn't like it at all. So I pulled myself out of his hold and I took a step back from him.
Landon looked at me with so much brokenness as if I had just stolen his soul, but he soon masked the pain that I could see in his eyes with a stern expression as he said.
'' Even though we are no longer bonded, you can not keep me away from my son, that is for sure.''
He took a step back as he turned around to leave, but before he could leave he gave me one last glance, and that look was so familiar, I remembered it so vividly, it was the look he had when he first saved me in the woods.
