Can, Burak, and Sarp had already visited the Marked Tail pack, and Can’s mate wasn’t there. Now they're on their way to the Edge Hunter's pack. But Can stops him. “There’s no need to go there. My mate isn’t there,” he sniffs and shakes his head. “This is a waste of time. Let's head back home. Damn it, I don’t have time for this crap.” He hit the window.
Burak and Sarp are looking at the broken window.
“Man, calm down. It's 48 degrees. How do you know she isn’t there?" Sarp looks at him through the rearview mirror.
“I don’t smell her. Have you forgotten my sense of smell is stronger than yours?” Can is looking at Sarp, turning around, but drives in the opposite direction from his castle. “I said, let's go home.”
Burak pats his shoulder. “We heard you. But today, we’re ignoring you. That is, unless you command us. We’re your best friends and only want the best for you. We’re going to the Brave Paws pack today. Because if you don’t. Then tonight, you'll think about it and regret not going.”
Can is about to protest when an intoxicating aroma of cherry and cyprus hits his nose. He leans his head closer to the broken window. “Hell, yes, she’s here some damn place. Eskimo is howling so damn loud. Drive faster.” He hits the back of the seat.
Sarp speeds up until they arrive at the gate of the Brave Paws pack.
Can is still sniffing with a slight smile.
“This is the pack of Alpha Taranis Creed, and they’re from Albania. That is all we could find out.” Burak is watching two guards walk toward the car.
After talking with Sarp, one of the guards' motions permits them to go to the main house. Can looks around the front yard at some women trying to lock in on the sweet scent. “She’s here somewhere,” he mumbles, looking at a 6’1 black-haired man with black eyes and a pregnant 5’6 dark brown-haired woman. He sniffs toward her and shakes his head, and thinks. ”It’s a good thing she’s not my mate.”
Taranis introduces himself and Giselle to the King and the others. He notices that Can is sniffing and looking at every woman he sees. “I take it your mate is here.”
“Yes. Is this all the women you have?” Can waves his arms.
“No. Not at all. Let’s go around the back." Taranis chuckles, looking at Can’s back. “Someone is in a hurry.” He took Giselle’s hand
Burak and Sarp laugh, looking at Can jogging and sniffing.
Can is looking at a group of women who look to be in their mid-twenties. He shook his head right before his eyes went to the training field.
Taranis and Giselle look at each other and walk behind Can. They’re relieved when they see about forty women training. Taranis is about to say something when he looks at Can and realizes that his eyes are glued to his sister. “f**k” He mumbles.
Giselle shook her head; she knew that her mate wasn’t happy about this. They had heard stories about Can. None of them were good.
Sarp and Burak look at Taranis, wondering why he said that.
Can points at the 5’8 long black hair and black eyes, Jesiree. “Aww, there she is. What is her name, and why hasn’t she acknowledged me? I don’t like to be ignored.” He's clenching his fists.
“She’s only seventeen. Her name is Jesiree, and she’s my sister. “Taranis steps beside Can.
“Damn, a child. Why in the hell would the Moon Goddess mate me with a child? Damn, she’s stunning.” Can is still looking at Jesiree, walking over to two young men, and giggling. “Who are those punks?”
“Aiden and Jace. They grew up together and are best friends. They aren’t punks.” Taranis looks at him
Jesiree turns to look at her brother, then at the 6’2, handsome man with brown hair in a man's bun. What caught her eye was a medium-sized scorpion tattoo on the left side of his neck. She’s walking toward them.
Can looks her up and down, nods when he sees a wolf crescent moon tattoo on her upper left arm. “You and I need to talk.”
“Oh, really. What about?’ She looks at Can. “Is he serious?” Jesiree looks at her brother.
Taranis nods. “Yes, he is serious, very serious.”
Can, Burak, and Sarp assume her brother informed her that he's her mate.
“Yes, I’m serious, and I’m your true mate. I understand that you're only seventeen years old. I won’t and can’t force you to come home with me. I’m Lycan King Can Scorpio, “ He takes her hand.
Jesiree looks him up and down and nods. “Well, two things I can say are you’re handsome and have a body like a God. But how do I know that you’re my true mate?” She gives him a stern look.
Burak and Sarp look at Jesiree in disbelief.
This threw Can back because no one had ever questioned him. “Young lady, I have no reason to lie to you about this important matter.”
“How old are you?” Jesiree leans closer to him, looking at his face.
“I'm five hundred years old.” He frowns and rubs his face.
“Well, Can Scorpio, you look great for your age. Sexy and handsome, I’ll go home with you. My birthday is coming up soon. That will give me enough time to know if I want you as my mate. I can’t just mate with the first man that tells me I’m his mate. If you’re lying to me, I’ll kill you. “ She looks at Burak and Sarp. "Yes, I see that after I've killed him, I'll have to kill you two. That won't be a problem. Then your kingdom will become mine." Jesiree walks away.
Can looks at Jesiree walking toward the house. “Tell me, Alpha Taranis, is your sister always like this? I mean, straightforward."
“Yep,” Taranis nods, looking at Jesiree, concerned.
“Good, I like that.” Can start walking to the house.
Sarp looks at Burak and scratches his head. "I don't know about this."
Burak pats his shoulder. “Damn, this is going to be fun as hell.”
“Fun? Fun? I don’t recall being threatened by a seventeen-year-old Luna fun.” Sarp looks at Burak.
“It will be fine. There's no way in hell her ass is good enough to kill Can or us.” Burak laughs. “Damn, I can't wait to see the look on Dionne’s face.”
Taranis and Giselle are walking behind Can. She looks at him. “Are you just going to let her go with him?”
“Not before she and I talk. I don’t give a f**k who he is.“ Taranis jogs to the house.
Jesiree is in her bedroom packing when her brother walks in. “You don't have to go with him. You know that, right?”
“Yes, I know. If he’s my mate, I need to find out. If he’s not, I’ll blow his ass up for lying. Also, there’s something about him that has intrigued me. Don’t worry. We won’t be sleeping in the same bedroom until Tempest, and I am one hundred percent sure he’s our mate. That won’t be until my birthday. “ She closes her suitcase. “I’ll be in and out of here. So you will be seeing me,” She kisses his cheek.
He takes a deep breath. “I’m not thrilled about this. But okay. Watch your back. I’m here if you need me.” Taranis hugs her. “Be careful, kido.”
Can is pacing at the bottom of the stairs. Every so often, he would look upstairs. He walks over to Burak and Sarp. “I finally found my mate. She’s younger than I expected. At least she’s going home with me. Tonight, I want a special dinner prepared. Yes, that would be perfect. I need to get to know my mate.” He looks upstairs and sees Jesiree and Taranis coming downstairs. “Get your Queen’s luggage.”
Giselle hugs Jesiree. “I’m here if you need to talk or kill anyone.”
Jesiree looks at Can. “Okay, but for some reason, I don’t think I’ll have to kill him, at least not yet."
Can smirks because he heard her and thinks, “Feisty as hell.”
Taranis walks over to Can. “Jesiree is a remarkable young woman. I’m not just saying that because she’s my sister. She’s my only blood relative. Bring her back home before you mistreat her. If you do mistreat her, I don’t give a f**k who you are. I’ll kill your Lycan ass. Do I make myself clear?” He looks into Can’s eyes.
“Mistreat, my mate, is the last thing you'll have to worry about. I’ll treat her like the queen she is. You and your Luna are always welcome. Now I should get my mate home. I have something special planned for Jesiree. Damn, that's a beautiful name. Beautiful, just like she is.” Can hasn’t taken his eyes off her.
“I'll be okay." Jesiree hugs her brother. “Can Scorpio, let’s go home.” She walks in front of him.
He rubbed his chin, smirked, and shook his head. “You heard my mate.”
Giselle wraps her arm around Taranis. “That man doesn’t have a clue.”
“No, he doesn’t. It seems my sister is hiding what she is.” He kisses the top of her head.

Efe, Isla, Miray, and Sarp’s mate Zehra are waiting for Can and the others to return. Burak and Sarp had informed their mates that Can had finally found his mate. He had contacted his brother with his news. He also contacted Lorie to make a special meal for two and to serve it in his private dining room.
“I hope she’s nothing like Dionne.” Isla looks at Efe. He’s looking out the window.
Miray put an ice bucket with a bottle of champagne on the table. “We are all hoping she isn't. Burak didn’t say anything besides her name is Jesiree Creed.”
“They're here. Everyone, be on your best behavior. s**t, I hope my brother is on his best behavior and doesn't frighten her.” Efe turns to look at the hallway.
Everyone is looking at Jesiree, shocked. Not because she’s young, but because they were expecting Can to be the first person to walk into the room. He never allows anyone to walk in front of him.
He walks into the room behind her, introduces Jesiree to everyone, pours two glasses of champagne, and hands them to Jesiree. “I forgot. Would you like a soda or juice instead?"
“No, this is fine.” Jesiree takes the glass, looks around the room at everyone, and chuckles because she's listening to their thoughts. They're wondering how old she is. If she is a virgin, and if she and Can will sleep together. Jesiree shook her head. "I’m seventeen, and what Can Scorpio, and I do is our business. My virginity is my business. You all shouldn’t have dirty minds.” She looks at Can. “I believe you were about to make a toast.”
He is now looking at her, confused. “What was all of that about?” He looks at his brother and then back at her.
“Nothing. It was something that needed to be said.” Jesiree smiles and looks at everyone in the room, drinking their glasses of champagne. "Oh, well," so she drinks hers. “I would like to take a bath. I didn’t get a chance to after training.”
“Oh, okay. Your bedroom is next to mine. Lorie will take you there. I’ll be in my office if you need me. Tonight you and I will have dinner alone.” He's looking into her beautiful black eyes.
“It was nice meeting all of you. Okay, see you at dinner, Can Scorpio.” Jesiree walks behind Lorie and starts talking to her.
Can gives Jesiree and Lorie time to get upstairs. His head snaps, looking around the room at everyone. “Now, what in the hell was that about her virginity, age, and sleeping arrangements?”
“It seems your mate heard our thoughts. I don’t know who was thinking about her virginity. I was wondering if you and she would share the same bedroom.” Burak looks at him, confused.
“What in the hell is she?” Efe walks into the hall and looks upstairs.
“All I have smelled is a werewolf. But this is interesting.” Can rub his forehead. “Tonight during dinner, do not disturb us unless it’s an emergency. “ He walks out of the room.
“I don’t know if I'm going to like this. Nope, not at all. I don't like people listening to my thoughts like that. One damn thing for sure, Jesiree isn’t a pushover.” Zehra sips her champagne.
