A cloud of rumor and suspicion continued to hang over Elara and Jasper as the days passed. The impact of the scandal was magnified when the campus announced a coveted opportunity for a select few students. These chosen individuals would be given an all-expenses-paid business internship to multinational companies in New York, lasting the rest of the current semester and all of the next year.

However, with the allegations of academic dishonesty, Elara and Jasper's chances of securing these positions were threatened. To add to their woes, an investigation conducted by a private investigator, hired by the campus, seemed to confirm the rumors. The evidence pointed towards their guilt - their notes were identical, suggesting they had cheated.

Despite this setback, they both held their heads high, determined to prove their innocence. Elara reached out to professors, defending herself and pleading them to reevaluate her work for any signs of misconduct. On the other hand, Jasper, with his trust in people severely shaken, decided to withdraw and find solace in the solitary company of his books.
