A few hours later, Todd and Jamal came into the house, they found Jenny lying on the couch Sobbing, tears flowing freely in her cheeks, shattered glasses and furniture on the floor.

" Jenny what's up, who did this to you," Todd asked, She just stared at him and continued crying.

" Where are your clothes, you can't stay naked like this, you are a big girl," Jamal asked, She had crossed her hands on her chest, her thighs pressed on each other and lay on her side to hide her best and private parts.

" How about Steve, where was he when all this happened, did he do this to you?" Jamal roared, anger could be seen on his face as scowls appeared on his forehead.

Jenny lay there sobbing, saying nothing, She was in Shock but the boys kept pressuring her with questions oblivious of her state.

" Steve! Steve! ," Todd shouted and rushed upstairs to check whether he was in his room, and Jamal pursued after him with anger rising.

Todd knocked on Steve's door and kicked it open, he was not in bed, He found Steve's eyes closed as he lay inside a bathtub of hot water," What's wrong with jenny?"Todd asked, Steve, nodded wordlessly.

Jamal gave him a hot slap, and he opened his eyes wide, Stepped out of the bathtub and run for his clothes, He put them on sighing with pain.

" Why do you have to be so heartless, why are you slapping me can't you ask nicely," Steve sneered and gave them his back as he buckled his trousers.

" Ask nicely and you are quiet, never show me your back, when am addressing you," Jamal kicked his butt and he fell across the bed.

" Why not go talk to Jenny, she is the only person who knows what has happened to herself, Can't you see I got broken ribs too," He raised his shirt and pointed at the black swollen area where he assumes one of his ribs was internally bleeding.

Jamal stepped on it with his left leg and Steve screamed in pain, he then kicked him hard and drugged him downstairs, holding him by his trousers along the hallway.

" Don't you think you going too far with this," Todd asked Jamal.

" Have you seen Jenny? This Monkey of a guy might have hurt her, and that rib there, tells it all, She hit him with the broken furniture we have found lying on the floor," Jamal seethed with outrage

" Yes Mister detective, Does this guy look like he can hurt even a fly?" Todd asked.

" They were both here, so who else should we blame, These quiet confused guys are hypocrites, they can kill you and pretend to be humble," Jamal blurted out, Steve was almost crying, the pain in his body was excruciating, he was getting numb, he could not feel his toes.

He did not want to be a snitch and tell on Jenny, he was a gentleman if she suffered under that guy's hands, she should tell her story, Steve was not responsible for all this, it was her doing.

" Why are you mishandling Steve, he got nothing to do with all this," Jenny sprang out of the chair when she saw Jamal hauling Steve to the room.

" If not him who did?"Todd asked a bit confused

" What are your gate keys doing on the table," Jamal took them and examined them they had blood on them, Jenny wasn't bleeding but Steve was.

" Steve, what is it you are afraid to tell us? , Now it seems that you were outside the gate right?' Jamal asked jingling the keys in front of his eyes

" I was forced at gunpoint to go open the gate!" Steve replied, they waited but he went quiet.

" Jenny why can't you tell your brothers what happened, am already in pain with broken ribs, and my legs are numb, do you want Jamal to keep on inducing more pain onto what is there," Steve begged, he was seated down on the floor amidst broken glass and sharp furniture.

" I got a guy online, invited him here but he turned out to be a scoundrel with all types of animosity, he beat up Steve bad and ravished me while he forced him to watch at gunpoint," Jenny explained bowing down and eating on her nails.

" I told you, you have added salt to injuries, he is worse than before, at least he could walk, kiss goodbye to today's withdrawal, and you exactly know what that means," Todd said plopping on the divan and resting his arms on the armrest stating a5 Steve who could kit move.

" We work together but in the end, you blame me, Why?" Jamal glared at Todd.

" Because you are an imbecile, stupid and an i***t, always generating trouble for us, why are you so afraid of thinking, must you mess up everything," Todd spoke out with anger his lips shaking as he clenched his fists.

" One day I will beat you up, can you make him stop Jenny, you hear the way he disrespects me and abuse me like am a child," Jamal gritted his teeth and stepped a few metres away from them, perhaps to refrain himself from hitting Todd.

" Am right here come and beat me, this punishment will fall on both of us, why should I suffer for you, am I your Jesus?" Toddy asked not calming down.

" At least you got the voice and the Saliva, keep on talking Strong guy," Jamal sniffed and walked to the wall, stood against it with his legs across each other, hands jerking his chin up like he was in deep thought.

" We need to call Amelia?" Jamal said.

" And say what," Jenny asked fear in her eyes.

" Everything!".

" Why?".

" Because Steve needs a doctor immediately to stop the internal bleeding," James said, darting to the kitchen and coming out with an icepack that he pressed on Steve's broken rib.

" Amelia! Steve needs urgent medical attention, we are losing him," Todd said after dialling her number on his phone.

" What happened to him," Amelia whimpered on the other end.

" Please come with an ambulance, he is bleeding profusely," Todd said and disconnected the phone.

" Why would you lie to her like that, it's not like he is dying," Jenny asked, oblivious of the urgency of the matter before them.

" He is dying, he has lost his stamina sense, and his legs are numb. because there is limited blood supply In his body, what if there is more to what our eyes can perceive" Todd argued.

" So guys, you are not gonna sell me out right, Amelia will throw me out if she gets to know I bring men in the house," Jenny Snickered.

" How, will we lie and explain all this," Jamal asked.

" I got a theory of what we are going to say," Jenny said eyes wide open.

" let's hear it fast, she is almost here, I can hear the ambulance sounds from a distance," Jamal shouted, still standing by the wall.

" I was going outside the gate, then I met with this guy, and he forced me back inside at gunpoint, we then came in the house and he raped me, Steve tried to help me but he beat him up," Jenny chuckled, it came out very well and convincing Amelia won't doubt it.

Steve rolled on the floor, his body was aching, and he did not have the strength to endure anymore, he has not been eating well of late, Eunice made sure he had the smallest portion and worked like a donkey. He must learn ways of survival in this house, he cursed whoever took his memory and made him go through such pain.

The ambulance arrived, and the nurses got in the house with a stretcher and carried Steve, Jenny and Amelia, He was given First aid and they stuck needles in him with drips, he was dehydrated and starving, with no energy in him.

" How is he, will he live?" Amelia asked pretending to be a good wife, she held on to Steve's hand till they got to the hospital.

" He will live, he looks malnourished and was beaten up badly, we are not sure if he has any broken ribs but the x-ray will tell us more," The doctor told her.

" Ooh God Steve, I tell you to eat but you ignore my advice, look how a small beating a few drops of lost blood is rendering you useless, you becoming a vegetable, " Amelia sobbed, tears pelted down her cheeks, putting a show.

" Aha!! So my sister can be a drama queen, what's all this nonsense is she talking about ? as if she is not the one who cut the food cost in the house, who even eats enough?" Jenny thought inwardly.

Steve was wordless, only moved his eyes around wondering when they will get in the hospital and shake these women out of his sight, he had read that someone goes to the doctors alone. The hypocrisy in the air was choking her.

Then Amelia started crying, Steve stared at her irritated, the words coming from her former mouth, was she cleansing herself in front of these doctors and nurses, "bullshit I have not eaten anything close to a meal for the last three weeks, which food do I ignore?" Steve thought inwardly.

Amelia nudged at his hand when she noticed the sad fierce look on his face, and Smiled at him in a lively manner then he said: " it shall be well darling husband, am praying for you".She continued sniffing and rubbing her wet eyes

The nurses carried him and took him inside the hospital and Amelia was left outside the hospital door with Jenny.

" There is a lot that's not clear, what happened in that house?" Amelia asked, And Jenny gave her the story that they invented and she sympathised with her.

"Am very sorry my little sister, I will join my husband to go to the emergency room, Follow the nurse over there and you will be treated," Amelia pointed in the nurse's direction and Jenny followed her as she hurriedly tried to catch up with Steve.

"We can't have you inside here Ma'am," The doctors said as they closed her out of the room.

Steve was alleviated from the pain the sight of seeing them caused him, The doctors took him through an x-ray and they checked his whole body and he was given more injections.

" Sir you are very lucky, you got no broken limbs only a cracked rib and we will rectify that with a minor surgery and you will be up and running," The doctor assured him.," lots of blood clots but nothing fatal".

" So who is signing the papers for you and what method of payment are you going to use to cater for your bills," Another nurse inquired.

" My wife, who brought me here will cater for that," Steve answered.

" Okay then let's talk to her and we will prepare you for surgery," The nurse said and called on Amelia.

" My dear, you need to sign and authorize your husband's surgery, and we need you to pay upfront," The nurse said.

" No problem, I will," Amelia nodded, took the papers and signed them, then gave out Steve's card.

" We can only get ten thousand from this and we need like Fifty thousand up front," The nurse told her after swiping and that's all they got.

" Continue with the Surgery, tomorrow the card will pay the ten thousand and I will see what I can do," Amelia said and left she had not thought about the bills and payment, she has extracted over eight hundred thousand from the card but she has used it to renovate her club that will be opening soon since she has bought enough stock and they are doing the last touches.

" Do I sell some stock and cover the hospital bill, I still need this guy, our contract is still on, Almost three months gone now and I can't back away now I need the money," Amelia thought.

She went home and was surprised, to find the living room disorganised and the boys seated in the dining eating and drinking like they were celebrating something.

" What's the occasion, ?" She hissed from the door," By the time I get to my room and down, I want to find this place sparkling clean, I can't stand mothers lectures if she finds this place like this!".

She went to Steve's room and was perturbed at how disorganised it was, Steve kept his room tidy and Jenny said whatever happened was downstairs never in the hallway of the rooms, So Jamal did this huh! Amelia double-backed and scampered to the living room.

" Why did you beat up Steve in such a manner," He grabbed his shirt colour and slapped him twice. Not minding if she can be stabbed by broken glass she trudged at.

" I thought she was the one who hurt Jenny," Jamal cooed and raised his hands to protect his face.

" Clean this mess, you will cook and wash clothes in this house and by tomorrow morning I need twenty thousand, better get out there, steal, rob or whatever but don't get caught for you will rot in jail," Amelia propelled him and he stumbled almost falling on the floor.

" And you too", She pointed at Todd.

Steve was out of the surgery at Midnight, Amelia had not gone back to check on how the surgery went by, as she was busy with ways to raise funds. When Steve came to, there was a man beside his bed. He had brought him all sorts of food and drinks.

" Who are you? Where is Amelia? " Steve asked

" She has sent me, wake up and eat your food, "The guy urged him, he had a cap and some specs on, it was not easy for him to remember if he had seen him before.

" Amelia would never send you with food, She has been starving us in the house a lot," Steve answered back.

" Am here to make sure you are fine, I have changed the consultants," Gutsy said.
