One day left. I bought a few connecting flight tickets, ready to vanish. But then Victor stormed in, his face dark with fury. He grabbed my wrist, his grip so tight it felt like he’d snap the bone. “Ivy was just joking, and you sold her out to Simon? You knew he’s got a score to settle with me. Why would you send her to her death?” I wrenched free, wincing. “Are you insane, Victor? I’d never hurt someone over a prank!” “Save it for him!” He shoved me into his car and peeled out toward the outskirts, blowing through red lights like a wolf possessed. My heart screamed one thing: Victor’s lost it. I tried to stay calm, texting my fake-death crew with my location. Before I could hit send, he yanked me out, throwing me to the ground. My phone skidded, screen shattered, and my stomach sank.
