Chapter 9: THE ABDUCTION

They all arrived at the venue where the ceremony was happening, and as soon as they arrived, Wren and Hunter's car drove in too. They all stood at the entrance staring at them as Hunter came out of the car and opened the door for Wren as the Queen that she is... She looked so stunning and gorgeous.

Hunter stared deep into her eyes and it felt like a warmth within her soul and she smiled warmly at him and took his hand as he led her in.

BELLA’S POV

Bella on the other hand has something mischievous up her sleeves, as she stared meanly at Wren as Hunter held her hands and led her in.

"I can't allow them to be joined together, not under my nose." She said to herself out loud so pissed and annoyed at how Wren is glowing.

"...I should be the next Luna, not her!" She shouts in her head

She goes and whispers her plan to Annelise, "We have to make sure that they don't end up together tonight, it's either we poison Wren and shut her up completely because we have tried getting to Hunter and he is so in love with her, so we have to get to Wren first this time around"

They both smiled and smirked wickedly at each other and gave each other a high five.

HUNTER'S POV

Hunter pulls out a seat for Wren as she sits and he takes his seat beside her still holding her hands and admiring his Luna, his eyes roaming her body in admiration.

He pulls in and whispers to her in her ears, "...I promise to always keep you safe, protect you, care for you and love you till my final breath." And he gave her an assuring promising peck on the cheeks.

Meanwhile, Hunter notices movements in the venue from Bella and Annelise. He suspected that they're up to something again as usual so he called his beta and friend to keep guard and make sure nothing ruins the ceremony; not even Bella, Annelise, Gertrude or anyone else who is against them being together as one.

"I suspect they are up to something, they seem to be moving around too much, keep an eye on them and report any strange thing you see around to me." Hunter ordered sternly as Hugo left to make sure everything was going smoothly and in order..

Music played

Everyone seems happy chatting with one another, drinking, eating and dancing.

Hunter calls their attention to make an announcement for the introduction and welcome address.

"Can I have your attention please. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased and happy for your presence tonight gracing this ceremony. I am thrilled to...."

As Hunter makes his opening speech to everyone present and the pack, Bella on the other hand is sneaking in and out of the kitchen as she dresses and blends in as one of the chefs to poison Alpha Hunter's dinner.

Nicholas and Gertrude on the other hand, working together as a team, are busy drafting plans in order to kidnap and eventually end both Alpha and potential Luna.

WREN’S POV

Obviously, the Alpha isn't a party person. While others were dancing and making merry, we sat at the high table talking, laughing and enjoying each other's company. It's how he's so authoritative and feared by everyone, but a totally different person with me.

It was time for the opening and welcome address which was to be rendered by Hunter, he was so bold and eloquent, I felt so proud as I watched him present.

I felt a little pressed and decided to go use the bathroom. I've never really been to a party or a ballroom like this one so it was pretty hard trying to find the rest room, which I eventually did.

I was about to go in when I felt a presence behind me. I looked back but didn't see anyone. I shrugged. Maybe it was just my imagination. I opened the door and all of a sudden, I felt a sharp pain and…….BLACKOUT

HUNTER’S POV

After my speech, I returned to find Wren’s seat empty, I wondered where she had gone too. But then I saw a written note “I need to use the rest room. Don't miss me too much. •Love ~your little cat”.

I smiled to myself after reading it, she had a habit of always leaving letters behind every time she went somewhere else. Everything about her was simply cute, she brought with her this peace I never knew I could ever feel. My little cat. I swore to protect her with everything in me. Even if it meant laying down my life.

Time was going and my baby wasn't still back, Fenris already started getting unstable and restless. She just wanted to use the restroom and it's over ten minutes, but she's yet to be back. I tried to remain calm as I had to greet other pack Alphas and old friends.

I signalled Hugo and instructed him to go and make sure she wasn't having any trouble helping herself out in any way.

Hugo came back and whispered into Hunter's ear and immediately he burst out in total rage causing immediate commotion all round the hall. Fenris got total control and he turned into his wolf and rushed straight into the woods, overturning, scattering and destroying everything and everyone in his way.

While some crouched in fear, there was distinct murmuring and chattering among the people. The Alpha’s mate is nowhere to be found.

Hugo gave orders that all entrances be shut and no one goes in or out as they started a thorough search throughout the entire hall and palace.

BELLA’S POV

What is going on?. I thought Anneliese and I were the only haters the mute girl had, it seems there's obviously more to the picture. I thought as I watched the commotion the whole place had been thrown into, as the news of the mute girl was spread. Weak thing, she can't even defend or look after herself. How then does she intend to protect the pack as Luna. I shook my head as I thought of the wasted energy I put into trying to poison her. Well, whoever orchestrated her kidnap is actually helping me. At least I don't get to stress myself trying to cover up traces of my sin.
