Chapter two. He paid the dowry

It woke up exactly 06:00 am the next morning, to say my morning prayers
Then I freshen up, take my breakfast and dress up in a long fitted blue gown that curve perfectly on my body
I neatly laced my hair frontal with a long straight pony tail
I applied my make up to look well glammed
And then I brought out my black heels from the closet with a to-match handbag
Checking out my final outlook from the mirror I look absolutely breathtaking
OMG I had to steal the show because definitely all eyes will be on me
Before I forget perfume are part of me, I can't step out without a scent
So I spray my Victoria secret body mist and brown orchid perfume all over me
Finally I'm set and all ready to go so I decided to book a car for a seamlessly ride to my family's house
On arrival, my junior sister came to hug me while we both went inside hands in hands
I met both my dad and mum seated on the sofa when I entered
“Good morning sir, Good morning ma, I greeted with my kneels on the floor”
“My daughter, it's my pleasure to see you and most importantly having you here”
“We called and you honour us by coming over as discussed”
“You such a good girl, well done my dad said with a long smile I haven't seen on my dad's face ever since I was born”
My mum drew me closer with a warm hug and offered me a seat
While I was seated waiting patiently for the arrival of our guest
Different varieties of foods were served on the dining table coupled with drinks, wine and juices
It was indeed a big celebration in my family just to meet my new man
I poured small portion of juice into a class cup as I sip from it while pressing my phone
When a tall, fair skin, handsome young man walks in from the door
I raise my brow and our gaze met
He smiled to my face while I smile back but I really don't know who he was
He was ushered into the dining section of our house
While I continue with my phone, my mum came to me and whispered silently
“That is your husband”
“Do you like him?”, She asked with a smile on her face radiating like a warm glow light
“Yes……mum I do”, I replied with a fake smile yet sincere with my mum
“Good, so you will now stand up and meet with him”
“Hi, I'm Maxwell”,he said immediately I walk up to him
“How about you? What's your name?”, He asked staring into my eyes
“I'm Karina”
“It's nice to meet you”
“Such a beautiful angel”
“Please seat here, he draw out the dinning session chair for me to seat”
While both my parents and my sister join us as we eat lunch
After the meal my dad clear his throat, seat up straight and look into Maxwell
“I wouldn't want you to take so long before we start the wedding preparation”
“So that you can fully have your wife to yourself”, he concluded with a smile
“My inlaw you already know everything needed whatsoever to get her fully wedded is available”
“So I don't think there is much preparation again”
“Jude” He called out to his driver who is seated at the living room
“Yes sir”
“Please go to the car and start bringing in those dowry items in the boot”
“And before I leave here, I will pay her bride price in full”, he said to my dad
“Wow you are truly a good inlaw”, my mum said with a gentle smile yet so radiant
I seems not to understand why my parents are so happy to marry me off to Maxwell
The man I never choose, the man my heart doesn't want or belong to whatsoever
Jude kept on bringing in the items as if it wouldn't end again
Numerous foods, clothing's, leather box, designer shoes, heels, slippers, luxurious handbags and many more to mention but few
I couldn't believe my eyes with all Maxwell brought in to my parents for my dowry
After the whole thing, we walk down to a reserved area of our house for privacy
“You are really so beautiful for me Karina that's why I choose to marry you”
“And trust me, you won't have to lay your hands on anything in the house”
“You already have an house keeper that will do your laundry and also keep the house clean and tidy at all times”
“While there is a chef to prepare us delicious meals”
“And after you have our first child, I will get you a nanny to care for our new born”
“So you literally have to do nothing than glowing and dressing up for me”
“And anytime you going out, there are numerous cars in the compound that you can take out with a personal driver”
“So you getting married to be pampered my love”
“You don't need to stress over anything”
“Million dollars will be your monthly house wife pay”
“So what else do you need from me my queen?”, He asked holding my hand, folding them gently
“Is there anything else you would want me to know about you?”, I asked softly just like any lady would ask a man she barely know so well
“No there is none or do you have other questions for me?”
“Not really, but maybe as our relationship proceed I can ask you anything that comes to my mind”
“Okay it's fine my queen, can we”…….
He was about to finish up his sentence when his phone rings
He picked it from the side pocket of his shirt look into the screen and hide it back into his pocket
The phone rings again the second time but he ignored it totally
“You don't want to pick your call?”,I asked seems concerned
“It's nothing to worry about, they are my workers”
“Ooh okay”, obviously I wouldn't want to think otherwise even thou my mind does
But I never follow my mind, a man am just getting to know obviously it might be one of his workers disturbing his phone
“What do you think about these colour of dress probably you can wear it for the after party of our wedding”
“Take a look”, he slide up his phone and show me
“That's gorgeous, I love the look”
“How about the heels?”, Would you like to rock it together?
“Yes they good together, they look so cute”
“Okay, so tomorrow I would take you for shopping but firstly I want you to visit the saloon”
“So when you done, then I will take you for our wedding shopping”
“I hope that's fine?”
“Yes it's definitely okay”
“Thank you my jewel for allowing me to pamper you just like the queen that you are”
He hold my hand and kiss it, you such a jewel
“Thank you”, I said all smiling
We walk back into the living room, my mum, dad and others were gisting, laughing with merriment
I walk to my mum and told her I would be going back home in some couples of minutes
Alongside with Maxwell, he will drop me at my apartment
“It's alright then, I wish you a safe trip with him”
“Don't worry, I will discuss with your dad as well”
“Stay safe my love”, my mum said as we hugged
I left my parents house in Maxwell luxurious G-wagon
When I got to my apartment, Celine was standing outside smiling to me as I alight from his car
“Take care my love, I will see you tomorrow but before then I will call you when I get home”, he said
“Okay bye”, I wave at him as he drove off
“You don't even need to tell me, I can see your lunch date with him and family is everything”
“Just take a look at you”, Celine said teasing my cheek
“What about me?”, I asked smiling
“So because of these little you just see now, it's enjoyment right?”
“Yes Karina, it is and don't dare deny it”
We both laughed about it as I walk into the shower to cool of then I wore a comfortable night wear
By the time am done Celine was already on bed trying to get her sleep
“Celine, I called out to her”
“He already pay my dowry, ready to walk me down the aisle”
“Wow, congratulations that's a joyful news, Celine said as she jump up from the bed”
“What's that face for?”, Karina!
“I don't seem happy, it was just as if my mind isn't ready for it yet”
“What? A man that's wealthy and ready to take you in and spoil you silly?”
“Why do you think you are not ready?”
Celine I still love Richard, honestly my mind still wants him
That was all I say before I realize Celine has gone to bed with her blanket fully covered up
So what I just said doesn't matter?
Well, it's like nobody values my opinion or what I feel
So i switched off the light and force myself to bed
