Permanent, timeless, immutable, eternal. The chapel reeks of changelessness and constancy. It’s beauty is profound, with stained glass and stone from times long past. I imagine a French king married his paramour in secret inside these walls. Although I dress in modern attire, the mood and feel of this rite is as ancient as the stones we stand on. The priest speaks in a language that seems appropriate for centuries long buried, but befitting this aged church and the way Billy and I conceive our marriage.
