Chapter Two - The darkness is my home

1208 Words
A darkness filled the room as I pressed my outstretched hand towards the ceiling and imagined the sun soaking up my scarred flesh and healing the wounds I hid from the world. Traces of water dripped from the mouldy corner and trickled down the wall until it merged with the stagnant water at my feet. I was slowly regaining sensation within my feet as my muscles pulled together and steadily mended themselves. I was never battered for very long with heightened healing capabilities. Hard nubs filled my gums as new teeth emerged where the previous ones had been pulled from. I shifted my weight, my knees ached as the grainy stone from under me dug into my naked frame. I stretched my dirt-stained arm out and reached towards a crack in the aged foundation, a whisper of fresh air blew towards me as I imagined breaking the wall and crawling out from the small confines I was held in. My silver hair fell over my face, blinding my vision as I recalled the distant memory of lush grass and running water that spread through the ground and watered the earth, giving it life and sustenance. No one could hear my desperate cries as the image faded and I was brought back to the wretched reality that formed my surroundings. My back screamed from agonizing pain as open gashes pressed into the dirt floor, old wounds never healed and new scars adorned my skin. My hair clung to my bare chest with the strands resembling finely spun silk, the ends curled and spun into the ground from beneath me as I steadily became one with my surroundings. Dirt clung to my face as I leaned forward and felt the ground before me, insanity threatened to consume me as I felt my way towards the door that separated me from freedom and from those who took pleasure in my demise. I kicked my leg back and fell forward as my hair caught under my knee and face planted into the soil beneath me, I cried out from the impact and forced the air into my nose. The stench of urine and feces violated my nostrils as I breathed instinctively, a dazed drift flooded through me as I fell to the ground in a defeated mess. My hands fell to my side as my consciousness began to fade from existence, I was ready to die at that moment and rejoin the gods who claimed to love and care for me. “She’s here,” a voice called out as a blinding light flooded the room. A figure pooled into the room, he was ruthless as he stared down at me in disgust. The man before me was young and craved the sight of blood. He took pride in scarrign my body and watch as his blade carved my once flawless skin. He was a shell of a man with a monster inhabiting what he was meant to be, he was the monster my father raised and adored, one of my many brothers. “Get her up, Titus wants to have a word with her,” a voice shouted from the distance. No, I wanted to cry out as my eyes felt heavy. “Drag her out if you need to,” the voice snickered as a pair of arms gripped my armpits and forced me to my feet. “Stand up!” the man shouted in my ear. I can’t, I wanted to cry out, but my voice was lost. Stones tore into my feet as the faceless figures dragged me forward and past the soiled thresh hold that bound me to the earth. My face was thrown to the side as icy water drenched my face and poured down my body, washing away old vomit and dried blood from my aching wounds. “Just let me die!” I whispered in a raspy voice as hands worked to scrub down my limbs. “No can do, kiddo,” a voice called from the distance. I stifled a sob as I fought against arms that pinned me to the ground, a rough cloth scraped at my skin as cold hands scratched at my healing wounds and pried the healing scabs away until fresh blood pooled to the surface. I screamed as I kicked at the person between my thighs and kneed him in the jaw until there was a sickening crack, I forced my leg back and kicked him in the chest and sent him flying until there was a crash in the distance. “How does she still have so much strength?” a voice shouted erratically. “Shut up and just hold her down, she’s just a little girl, stop being a pansy!” another voice chided. “Don’t touch me!” I cried out as I fought against the men pinning my arms down. “Little girl, my ass,” someone muttered angrily as a foot collided with my jaw. My head snapped to the side as he pressed his booted foot into my face and pressed down until I cried out from the pain, blood filled my mouth as my growing teeth tore into my gums and suffocated me as the warm liquid travelled down my windpipe. I opened my eyes and allowed the light to invade my crystalline blue eyes and reflect off the sea blue gems. The man pinning my arms to the ground froze as he met my gaze, his jaw grew slack as he took in the beautiful and yet damaged appearance of the woman he was restraining. His hypnotic trance was broken as a fist cracked into his face with a sickening crunch, the figure pinning me released my arm as he stumbled back from the impact. “You f*****g i***t! Never look her in the eyes!” a voice shouted angrily. I sighed from relief as they forced me to my feet with a blindfold thrown over my eyes. My ankles rolled from under me as an arm supported my wavering weight, my arms were lifted as a silent women tugged a pale dress over my shoulders and tugged on the hem to position it around my hips. Her image was blinded as I caught her movements through the sheer blindfold. She didn’t speak a word as she finished and stepped away with her face looking towards the ground. “She’s done,” a sullen tone announced. “Perfect,” a voice stated. I could imagine his wide grin as his eyes glanced over my tight figure. The air caressed my exposed breasts as the low neckline plunged towards my belly button. My flesh was silken and smooth as the man approached and ran his hands along my forearms, his touch sent a shiver down my spine. My stomach wretched, my repulsion made him smirk as he pulled away and motioned for those who held me to press forward and towards our intended location. “Let’s go, father is waiting” he said in a harsh tone. No! I wanted to cry out. Aziza! I pleaded for him through my mind, my only blood relation who protected me from the other side of my iron prison. No one could save me.
