Madeline
"Please don't cry mom.” I say wiping her tears, she’s been crying since I told her the news of my new job. Though I wondered if it was because she would miss me or because she wouldn’t have anyone to watch her younger kids while she was out making them unplanned siblings.
“I’ll miss you Madi, my Madi.” She held her bulging stomach as she kissed my cheek.
“Make the most of it and have fun..” she paused. “And Don’t do anything I would do.” My mother always regretted her decisions after the fact. Even though we both knew she would do it again the next day.
“Okay.” I stressed the ‘y’. I glanced over to my four sleeping siblings. I took a night flight so they didn’t have to go through roller coaster of emotions that came with seeing me leave.
“Take care of them for me. I love you.” I say pulling her into a hug, she nodded.
“Call me when you get to bRiTiAn.” She said with a poor attempt to mimic a British accent.
I laughed, leaving hastily before I changed my mind.
If I had witnessed her shed another tear I would have unpacked and stayed.

When I got the airport I felt lost. So lost. My heart pounded with anxiety as I took my luggage up making my way to the counter as they called my flight number over the intercom.
As I boarded the busy plane, I took my seat. Sighing as the pilot announced that the plane was about to take off.
A few minutes into the flight my phone rang. It was my boss.
“Hi Mister Greyson.”
“Hello Miss Nargo. How’s your flight thus far?
M“It’s going well, thanks.”
G“I’m relieved to hear that.”
M“Thank so much for upgrading my ticket by the way.”
G“Please, it’s my pleasure. It was my wife’s idea actually.”
“Your wife! Yes, how is she?”
“You can ask her when you get here. I’m not going to keep you any longer, enjoy the flight Miss Nargo. And I would appreciate it if you texted me when you’re about to land, so I can send the chauffeur to get you.”
“Will do.. Thank-” he hung up. I frowned, I must apologize for prying when I see him..

After the plane landed, texted Mr Greyson before going to sit the lobby. After around five minutes a man in a full black suit calls for me while holding up a sign with my full name on it. His loud voice echoed through the airport earning him a few glares. I quickly got up grabbing my suitcases and putting my backpack on. He grabs my luggage in a swift motion.
“I’ve never been so happy to see a stranger.” I remarked, grinning while trying to keep up with the chauffeur’s fast pace. He remained silent.
‘He seems....nice’
