"Are you really sure you can walk?"
My cheeks flushed from his repeated question.
"Yes!" I said irritably, quickening my pace because I didn't want to walk beside him.
I closed my eyes tightly when my legs started trembling again. Fortunately, there was a nearby coconut tree that I could lean on, so I didn't completely fall. I could hear his soft, mocking laughter behind me.
"I can give you a piggyback ride, you know..."
I shook my head and started walking again, forcing my knees to stay strong.
We did it three times straight without even resting, and when we were done, I felt a bit better and immediately suggested we go home. We are not a couple, so cuddling or small talk is not necessary at all, for us.
