A soft tap on my face woke me up from a deep sleep. I slowly woke up to Alonzo's smiling face greeting me. "We're here..." he said hoarsely, making me sit up properly and look around. Just as he said, we were indeed at the seashore. It was low tide, and the sun would rise at any moment. We both wanted to witness it. As the first rays of sunlight began to peek over the horizon, Alonzo and I stood silently, side by side. The gradual lightening of the sky mirrored the changes in our own lives.
