I have two brilliant retrievers and three felines, and I swear they cooperate to cause havoc for the people. One of my felines, Bogeyman,
is a run of the mill tracker, consistently getting back with a mouse or vole to drop as a gift on the doorstep (or occasionally in the house, yuck). While not a charming errand, tidying up these dead critters is sufficiently simple. It turns out to be more troublesome when Bogeyman passes on his catch to decay in some irregular piece of the yard, where almost certainly, one of my 2 Goldens will find it and cheer with a full body rub all around the corpse.
All things considered, one fine day I was working in the yard when Bogeyman walked in under the wall with a fine shaggy corpse in his teeth. Perceiving that this luscious chunk would have been dropped quickly, Schroeder went into ready mode and I could see his psyche working.
Bogeyman dropped the vole and before I could cross the five-foot range between us, Schroeder jumped across the yard and gulped down the vole.
I was doing whatever it takes not to vomit, so I'm practically certain, but rather can't be absolutely positive, that I saw Bogeyman and Schroeder high five their paws. Investigating their eyes, I could imagine their discussion as such:
Bogeyman: "Gee, don't allow that varmint to go to waste. I previously did the crucial step. I got it and decreased its impression and natural effect by precisely pounding it."
Schroeder: "Loosen up, great cat. It's my turn now. My belly is working REUSING the waste."
Life continued on, until the following day when I was sitting in my parlor with the two dogs, both snoozing on their dog beds on the floor. But, here comes that undeniable sound: it's the Domestic pet Abdomional Spewing forth Muscle Fit Cautioning system. I say cautioning system, since it in all actuality is, to be sure, cautioning you that you have no chance to do anything that will help in the following 14 seconds of unpleasantness. Unbeknownst to me, however, the DPARMSWS is a useful warning system to canine brothers, in light of the fact that the moment Schroeder's belly began churning , Blunder Doggy was alert and ready to go, across the room and pausing. Schroeder heaved up that dead vole and Blunder Pup had that thing gulped out of the air before it hit the ground. Now I'm truly battling to hold down my morning meal while one dog eats the dead rat that the other dog had gulped down a day earlier, after the cat had killed it. Now that is family reusing!
