9Bryan had been gone for five days, but it felt like forever. Megan had never been one to pine after anyone, but she missed him and didn’t like the feeling. She’d never depended on anyone before…she didn’t want to begin now. She poured her third cup of watered-down coffee and returned to the back porch, where she found Paul leaning against the railing. Sitting in her rocking chair, she blew away the rising steam and took a small sip. “You were right.” She raised one eyebrow and gave him a wry grin. Paul frowned. “Right about what?” “Bryan.
