  Why the hell did I even say anything?! I knew better than to try and gloss over my move like that. The expressions and emotions that flew across Tori's face before she threw herself out of my car spoke volumes. Now she was somewhere out here on my property, and when she came up off her adrenaline rush, she would meet fear. There was tightness in my chest, and I could barely breathe the thick humid Florida air. "Tori!" I holler out into the pitch-black darkness. "Fuck." I groan. The longer I stood around, the longer Tori was out there. Opening my car's passenger door, I look to see if she left her phone; not seeing it, I feel a glimmer of hope.
