Aria stared at the picture on her phone, her breath coming in sharp bursts. The image was useless; blurry, shaky, taken from too far away. She could barely see anything except Gabriel’s car and a faint outline of a woman beside him. Her teeth clenched. “This is a joke.” She zoomed in, again and again, as if the woman’s face might magically appear. Nothing. Just a smear of long hair and an indistinct figure leaning toward Gabriel. Her heart burned. “Useless!” she shouted, hitting the back of the driver’s seat so hard that he jumped. The man glanced at her from the mirror but quickly looked away. Aria grabbed her phone and dialed furiously.
