Gabriel's jaw tightened as he glanced at his phone again, then quickly slipped it back into his pocket as though afraid she’d seen something. “What’s wrong?” she asked softly, tilting her head to study him. “You look… worried.” He forced a smile, the kind that didn’t reach his eyes. “It’s nothing,” he said quietly. “Just something I need to handle.” Isabella could tell he was lying, but she didn’t push it.
