Harper’s POV
The drive back was much quieter than the journey to the elders’ meeting.
I sat beside Xavier, watching the familiar roads slowly replace the forest behind us. My mind was still trapped inside the meeting hall, where every elder had looked at me as though I didn’t belong there.
