Part 3 chapter 7

We finally reached the farm after we got Star to change back. She wouldn't look at me at all or let me see her eyes. I really wanted to talk about it but felt like she hid it for a reason. I didn't want to bother her just in case it makes her feel uncomfortable, besides how was I supposed to bring it up? It’s not like you can just start a conversation about something to someone who feels uneasy about it! Although it would probably be best if I did bring it up to her, besides maybe it would help us both! We walk into our Aunt's house beside her farmhouse and sit down on the sofa. We needed to give our mom a call so we did, we explain how Ava was trying to kill us and we needed to get out of the city. “... so don't worry mom, we'll just be here! We’re completely safe!” Star said smiling. Once she hangs up the phone we smile at each other, but both smiles fade with the fact that we needed to talk… a lot. We began talking about our day followed by how we had a bunch of excitement before we got here. We snickered at the fact we could have gotten killed. I look at her finally brave enough to talk. “Star.... please tell me everything you know about this demon that you have… if you want to of course…” I say slowly quieting down. She looks at me willing to tell me what she knows.  “Ok so… you know-how before we left I was already outside right?” I nod as she continues. “Well I woke up from a nightmare before that and went to the washroom, I looked in the mirror and… I was a demon too, I didn't like how my eyes looked at all and that's why I hid them from you earlier…” She stops almost breaking down in tears. I wanted to ask why she hated them but I knew it wouldn't make her feel better. I hug her and tell her it's okay. She breaks down in tears and hugs me back. “Emma do you remember the nightmare I had when we first moved into Edmonton?” she asks wiping the tears from her eyes. I look down and think. I nod my head remembering what she told me.  “Don't worry Star! I can help you control your powers so it doesn't happen!” I say determined. We go into our field and look around to see if anyone was nearby, nobody was. We made a scarecrow and I told Star to sit down well I made it look like Jason without her knowing. It was a stupidly dangerous idea and I could get hurt if she loses control. I ignored the thought and told Star to come here. She looks up at the sky as she walks towards me. Once she looked at the scarecrow she did exactly as planned changed and hid her face. I was afraid something was going to go wrong but continued to proceed. I could see something was wrong because she was shaking. Her hand flung upwards as a blue and dark red flame appeared and shot towards the dummy. I jumped back startled and tripped over my foot. As I landed on the ground Star opened her eyes and yelled my name. She thought she hit me so she rushed over to help me up. I smiled at her showing I didn't get hit. My arm was scratched my the ground but nothing more. She hugged me and put her hand on my arm. My arm stung for a bit but then I felt no pain at all. I look down at it confuse and it was healed completely. I gasp at the fact Star could heal, I think for a moment and look at Star. she had tears in her eyes still worried about me but I could see her eyes. One was black with a bluish-red colour to it and the other was normal. She was a half-demon! I gasped again and this time Star jumped back and looked at me. “Star… you’re a half-demon…” I say amazed. She looks at me and shies away, I know I did this to her but at least she wasn't a full demon, it's my fault because I messed up the spell.
