Part 3 (the betrayel) Chapter 1

It has been a month since the school found out and all has been going well, except the constant nightmares. As Star and I unpack the last box in our room we find are old picture with are old friends. Star and I almost cry looking at all of our old presents. 

“Star, how about we go visit them. I'm sure they miss us!” she looks back at me with tears in her eyes. 

“I would love to! We haven't seen them for a while… How are we gonna get there? It’s an hour's drive and mom won't let us go…” I smile at her and look out the window. “Emma no! You can’t possibly fly that far!” Star yells. I snap my head back and look at her. 

“Oh please tell me mom didn't hear that…” I mumble to myself. We wait to see if she would say anything but it was silent. “now as I was going to say, I can fly pretty far and if we only bring your backpack full of stuff there shouldn't be too much weight.” I explain. She sighed and looked at me. 

“Ok fine you win. But we will have to make an excuse.” I give her a thumbs up showing her I already had one.

We packed the bag and as Star is talking to Ira about our plan I talk to mom and tell her we are going on a sleepover with Ira. she says yes not knowing that I was lying… I hate lying but I needed to see our old friends. “So what did Ira say?” I ask Star walking back into the room. Star gives me a big smile and a thumbs up because she was still on the phone. 

“Ok. thank you, Ira!” Star says ending the call. 

“yes!” I scream of excitement. “I can’t wait to see them again!” 

After Star and I are all packed up we wave bye to our mom as Ira’s mom picked us up. “Does she know?” I whisper to Ira. 

She nods. “she's ok with the plan and promised not to tell your mom.” I smile and look out the car window. Ira’s mom was driving us to the edge of the city so I had more of a chance to stay hidden, Star, Ira, and I also got to talk more. “So how long has it been since you saw your old friends Emma? And why did you leave?” Ira’s mom asks. I tense up not wanting to remember all of it. 

“I don't want to talk about it. Sorry. I just have some… troubling memories of my old town.” I reply

The rest of the trip was silent and nobody said a word until we got to our stop. “Ok bye girls!” Ira’s mom said as we leave the car. 

“Bye!” Ira Screamed. Star and I laughed as we start walking to a safe place for me to open my wings. 

“Star how long do you think it will take to get there?” 

“I don't really know Emma. if it takes 1 hour to drive it would probably take 2 hours to walk but flying is like in the middle so… an hour and a half, Maybe” I stop and take in all of what she said. 

“Wow your really smart!” I compliment her. “Here,” I say as we walk into an opening in the forest. I opened my wings and stretch. Star Hops on my back and we fly into the air. People ask me how I can carry so much while flying and my only response is “magic….” to be honest it kinda is magic but with my demon side, I am a lot stronger than I look. “So which way are we going?” I ask. Star looks down at her GPS and points ahead of us.

“Yes, we are on track!” I fly about a kilometre away from the roads so people don't see us.

About an hour has passed and I flew down to the ground outside of a small town so Star and I can rest. As we get closer I see Ava at the gas station. As I wave Ava looks at me and looks away. “Star did you see that?” she looks at me and nods. 

“She looks like she is up to something…” Star says looking back at Ava. I notice a small glare from Star towards Ava but I shrug it off. We notice she runs into her car and rushes her parents into the car. 

“Ok let's just keep going we only got about a 30-minute fly to get there,” I say as we walk into the forest again.

We finally get there and it took us around 2 hours with the stops. When we got there we immediately go over to our friends' houses. We know Ava isn't there but Star and I didn't care, we just wanted to find out what she is up to. As we reach our first friend's house which is Cassie's she immediately jumps into our arms and smiles. “How did you get here? How is your new place?” Cassie asks. I cut her off before she could ask any more questions and we all go to get the others.
