Claimed

They were both laughing hysterically as they made their way to the exit. Jon walked up and said ‘Aaron left.’ She suddenly felt extremely guilty but only for a second before she remembered that he was supposed to be her ride home. ‘I can take you home’ said Draven as if reading her mind. ‘Yeah. That would be great thank you.’ She replied. Jon glanced at his watch and said ‘speaking of which, Ash should be off work soon. I’m gonna bail.’ And then spin on his heels and vanished into the crowd. They looked at each other and shrugged. He put his arm around her shoulders and led her to a food truck. Without a word, he asked for a caramel apple and pink cotton candy. He paid for it and held them both out to her. ‘Sweets for my sweet.’ He said, grinning. ‘How did you know that’s my favorite?’ She asked, slightly stunned. He shrugged. ‘Lucky guess?’ She thanked him and nibbled the apple as they walked the grounds-around and around and around-talking about random topics from school to movies to music. They were both musicians with similar taste. He told her of some local bands from his hometown and she told him about her band-SDR. She was a bassist, he played lead guitar and they both sang and wrote their own songs. The conversation flowed easy and she felt comfortable with him. He was…familiar. She knew him even though she didn’t know him. They made their was to the lot and he led her to a small single cab truck and opened the door for her. He tucked his arm to his waist and bowed dramatically. ‘Your chariot, madam.’ ‘Why thank you, sir.’ She drawled. She climbed in and he closed the door behind her before walking around to the driver’s side. He pulled the keys from his pocket, got in and put them in the ignition before closing his door and turning to her. ‘What?’ He asked. She realized she was staring. Smiling and staring. ‘Nothing.’ She said. ‘Just you.’ He smiled back and put the car in gear. As he pulled onto the main road from the parking lot, he reached for her hand which she surrendered willingly. They both just sat there-she looking at him, he looking at the road-the only words spoken were the simple directions she gave him. He glided smoothly into the driveway, put the truck in park and turned the key off. Without an ounce of hesitation, he unclasped his seatbelt, leaned toward her cupping her cheek with his hand and kissed her. Her eyes closed and she melted into him. Her heart beat faster and both of their breathing quickened. She reached up and gripped his wrist as he slid his hand to the back of her neck. He ended the kiss sweetly before pulling back just enough to rest his forehead against hers. ‘You’re mine. Even if you don’t know it yet.’ He whispered. She opened her eyes to look into his. Suddenly the euphoric wave was gone-replaced with a seriousness she didn’t quite understand. ‘Don’t worry. I know.’
