Chapter 11

Jennifer’s PV     “Let’s just spend the day here. The tracker can wait a few days. I just want to spend time with you. We won’t leave the pack house,” I told them.     They looked at me. “As long as you promise not to disappear on us, or to go for a walk, I am fine with that,” Jason said.     Jason contacted Mary and told her to send lunch up to our room and dinner when it was ready.     We spent the next several hours just lying-in bed talking about anything and everything. They told me about some of the royal jobs that we are responsible for. Like, checking in on different packs and making sure that they are abiding by the rules. It is also our job to decide if a punishment is needed and what punishment should receive when Alphas, Lunas, Betas or Deltas are involved.  They told me that we also send aid if an Alpha needs assistance with rouges. It was nice to just relax and stay in bed cuddled up together and pretend that there weren’t forces out there trying to tear us apart. Of course we could only do that for so long and the boys said it was time to go and see the head pack doctor, Samuel. Jason’s PV     We went to the Pack Hospital to look for Samuel.     “Samuel,” I called.     “Well, My Kings and Future Queen, how may I help you,” Samuel asked as he came out of his office.     “There is a man that is after Jennifer and we want to be sure that if she gets captured, we will be able to find her. Do you have a way to place a tracker under her skin,” I asked.     He looked shocked for a few moments.     “Yes, I do, I can implant it right now if you would like. Then we can sink it to all three of your phones. I can even set it up so that it will alert you if she leaves the pack grounds,” Samuel said.     “That would be great,” Jonathan said.      “Take off your pants and hop onto the table,” Samuel told her.     “Why,” we said in unison. He took a step back.     “Well, the most common places to place a tracking device is in the arm or neck, that is usually where they check, most of the time, they won’t do a full body scan. So, I have found the most successful placement for tracking devices is in the side of the thigh. It is less likely to be discovered,” Samuel said. “Also, it doesn’t hurt as bad, because I am injecting it straight into fat,” he finished.     Jennifer looked at me to see what she should do and I nodded to her. “That sounds like a good idea,” I told him. So, Jennifer did as Samuel asked her to. He got it ready and injected it. Then he did something on the computer and smiled.     “It’s live,” Samuel said. “Do you have your phones with you,” Samuel said. We handed over our phones and he pushed some buttons and then handed them back. “You will see a new app on the first screen. If you open that it will bring up a map and pinpoint where she is located. The green zone is our land. If she steps a foot outside of the green zone then you will get a loud beeping from the phone, even if you have the phone on vibrate or silent. It will sound like this,” he said. He went to the computer and pushed a few buttons and this annoyingly loud beeping sounded. It was extremely loud. There was no way we could miss that alarm, especially if we were all three in the same room. The sound would almost be defining. “This is the sound,” he said.     “I think we would hear that, but I hope we never do,” Justin said. We thanked Samuel and left.     “What are you guys, going to do,” Jennifer asked.”     “We need to go to the office and make sure that our borders are secure enough,” Justin said.     “What about you, sugar,” Jonathan asked.     “I think I am going to walk around the area and get to know some of the pack,” she said.     “Do you want one of us to go with you,” I asked.     “No, I should be fine, go get you stuff done so we can relax tonight, watch a movie and cuddle,” she said.     “Just promise us you’ll stay in the open,” Jonathan asked.     She kissed each of us on the lips, promised, and walked off. While we headed to the office.     We spent the next several hours discussing the patrol schedule and any weak spots that we needed to look at. We came to the conclusion that we probably needed to increase the patrol by 2 more werewolves each shift. That would make up for the weakness that we felt we had.     Next we contacted our head guards for each shift and had them come to our office so we could explain the changes. Jennifer PV     I walked around the village and couldn’t believe how big it really was. I feel bad realizing I hadn’t come out into the pack since I got here. I walked around talking to everyone that I met. Everywhere I went everyone was so nice and had nothing but nice things to say about the Kings. I watched the kids playing. It surprised me that many of the people I talked to bowed to me and called me Luna or Queen. It caught me off guard.     As I walked; I came upon a building with tons of children playing outside. I realized that it was an orphanage. I looked around the playground area at all the children. It looked like there had to be at least 50 kids under the age of 10 playing. What caught my eye were two children sitting all by themselves under a tree. I could tell from here that they had black as coal hair and they looked like they might be twins. They looked so sad and alone. I opened the gate to the orphanage and a woman came up to me.     “Good morning Queen. How may I help you this morning?” she asked.     “I was walking around the village and noticed those two children sitting under that tree. Can you tell me what their story is?” I asked her.     She sighed. “Yes, my Queen. Let’s have a seat under the shade,” she said.     “Thank you…” I said waiting for her to tell me her name.     “Oh my, where are my manners. The kids call me Miss Sandy, but my name is Sandy Castle, she said.     I nod. “Thank you Sandy,” I say.     We sat down and she looks over at the two children. “That is Adam and his twin sister Abigail. They were found just outside our border about 6 months ago. As far as we can tell, they have most likely been beaten most of their lives. They are most likely between the age of 5 and 6, but it is hard to tell, because no one has been able to get them to speak since they got here. We can’t tell if that is because of some trauma, or if they have not ever learned to speak English. They seem to understand us, but they just don’t talk,” she says.     “When they got here, we tried to find a family that would take them, hoping that being cared for would help, but no one wanted twins with problems. They just sit there under that tree, or they sit in the house. I have never seen them play with any of the other children; just with each other,’ she said.     Do you think it would be alright if I go and talk with them for a few moments,” I asked.     She looked down at her watch for a moment and said, “You know what, it is about time for snack. How about you take them their juice and crackers and that will be a good way to ease into talking with them. I don’t think you will get much of a conversation, but you never know,” she said as she got into a cooler and pulled out three juices and three crackers for us. “They will not eat if you are not eating,” she said.
