Jason’s POV We sat in a phone meeting with one of the Alphas that is having problems with rouges, when Matthew contacts us to let us know that they need to see us when we are done, it is important. We look at each other and finish up our meeting.
“What do you think that is about,” Jonathan asks.
“Well let’s call him in and see,” Justin states.
I mind link Matthew to come to our office and we wait only a few moments. We are surprised though when Isaac shows up also.
“What is this about gentleman,” I ask.
They look at each other and we wait.
Then Matthew starts talking. “About an hour ago a woman came to our gate, she claims that she lost her memory. She was asking for help. She wondered if she could stay here for a while. We told her that we could not make that decision and that you were in a meeting. We called her a rouge and it didn’t seem to register with her. It also didn’t seem to make a difference to her when we called you Kings. So, either she is a really good actress, or she really did lose her memory. We put her in the first well and told her wo would let you know.”
“Did you have food taken to her,” I ask.
“Of course, Sir,” He says.
“Who brought her food,” Jonathan asks.
“Mary,” Isaac responses.
“Why did you wait so long to come and let us know that she was here,” Justin asks.
“We wanted to give her time to eat,” Matthew replies. “When I thought she had enough time to finish eating, I contacted you.”
We let Matthew and Isaac go back to their posts. I link Mary to come to our office and she responses immediately letting me know she is on her way.
When Mary came in, she smiles.
“You want to see me, I am going to guess that it is about the certain girl,” she replies.
I nod.
“She seems really sweet. I also believe she is telling the truth about her memory. When I mentioned the word Alphas, she seemed very confused. She stated that she thought she was waiting for the Kings, not Alphas, which is she waiting for? She looked genuinely confused. I can smell her wolf, but whatever happened to her has caused her wolf to be suppressed.”
I nod. “Thank you, Mary, we will go and see her now,” I tell her as we stand.
“One more thing, Alphas, I only made her one sandwich and a cup of soup because I wasn’t sure how much her stomach could handle. I told her to yell for Matthew if she was ready for more, but she hasn’t yet. When you talk to her, can you check to make sure that she doesn’t need more food. She seems very weak and unhealthy. I don’t know what happened, but I think it took a huge toll on her and her wolf,” she said. I nod and she turns and leaves.
I look at Justin and Jonathan. “Should we go and see this woman that has come and won the hearts of everyone that she has met,” I ask jokingly. They smile and nod.
We walk down to the dungeon, saying hi to everyone as we passed. As the Royal Pack my brothers and I have worked hard to make sure that we live as an example for how we expect all packs to live. We work hard to make sure that everyone know that we are available to anyone, big or small. We also don’t believe in killing rouges on sight like some Alphas. That is why we have a section of the dungeon where the girl is. It is nicer than most dungeons, with a privacy bathroom and clean sheets and we even have someone come and clean it every other week. As we get to the dungeon door, I smell a wonderful smell. It reminds me of the apple pies that our mom used to cook for us on our birthday. When we became adults, we loved them so much that she would make each of us 2 pies every birthday. My wolf broke me out of my memory with one word “Mate”. I heard the statement echoed by both my brothers “Mate,” “Mate”, we looked at each other. We walk down to the cell and look in on her. She is beautiful. We can see what the guards and Mary were saying. We can smell her, but she looks like a very weak human. Her figure looks like it could break if you look at her wrong and is covered with dirt from head to toe. I notice that she looked like her hair is brown.
“What should we do now,” I asked.
“What can we do,” Justin said.
“We have no choice,” Jonathan said.
“I know we are going to keep her, but she doesn’t know who she is, she doesn’t know that she is a wolf. How are we going to handle being with her and not BEING WITH her? The whole pack is going to have to act human until she gets her memory back. That won’t be easy. What happens if rouges attach? How will we explain it?” I ask through our triplet link.
“I think you need to calm down and stop asking for trouble. We need to take one step at a time. Let’s worry first about getting her to stay and linking everyone and letting them know that we have a girl staying with us that doesn’t know she is a wolf, so there will be no wolves in the village, only changing when in the forest,” Justin said.
I unlocked the cell and we walked in. She opened her eyes and looked very worried about what we were going to do.
“I know you lost your memory, but I was wondering if you happen to remember your name,” I asked.
She nodded, but didn’t say anything.
I looked at my brothers.
“Are you willing to tell us? My name is Justin, this is my brother Jonathan and this is Jason,” Justin said.
She swallowed. “Do you want to know my name so you can kill me?” she asked.
“Of course not. We were going to ask if you would like to stay with us, but we would like to know what to call you,” I told her.
She looked between us and whispered, “Jennifer.” with our good hearing we had no trouble hearing her.
I held out my hand for her to take. I waited. She looked at my hand for a moment and then she placed her hand in mine. I felt sparks, but it didn’t look like she did. I guess until her wolf came back, she wouldn’t.
