I was feeling both excited and nervous. It was my first day in the kitchens of Moonlight, and I was determined to learn as much as I could. I had gone from being a leader to having to learn again, but I was equally determined to rise up in the ranks and become top chef. I was already looking into culinary schools here in Miami so I could finish my degree. Leaving the Tallahassee school had been difficult, but it was the price of keeping myself safe.
I put on the uniform Jax had given me. We were riding to work together today to save on gas. My outfit was an all-white short-sleeved chef’s coat and matching white pants, with red buttons running down the front. My hair was pulled back in a ponytail with a hair net over it, as required for anyone with long hair.
I looked the part. Jax
