Jasmine wasn't the same after Calus' excitement over her. She saw what her future would look like, and it didn't end well. She didn't speak much and kept her head down most of the time. It was like Calus sucked the life out of her already. Jasmine cried silently and barely slept at night. She didn't find much comfort in our talks when she did participate.
I felt frantic trying to figure out how to get her out of this. There was no way Brandon and this new Sanctuary would have enough money to outbid a king.
