231 Words
1: After Hours Ha-eun sat at her desk long after the others had left, the soft tapping of her keyboard echoing through the empty office. Her fingers moved quickly, but her thoughts drifted. Everyone else had gone home hours ago, but she stayed—like always. Not because she wanted to, but because she feared what would happen if she didn’t meet every impossible expectation. Working under CEO Min-jae was no ordinary job. He was cold, sharp, and intimidating. He never raised his voice, but one look from him could cut deeper than words. She didn’t need to turn to know who it was. “Still here?” His voice was deep and smooth. She quickly stood and bowed slightly. “I’m finishing the quarterly report, sir.” Min-jae stepped closer, his gaze unreadable. “You always stay late. No need to overwork.” Ha-eun offered a small smile. “Just doing my best.” He paused. “You always do more than expected.” A silence fell—heavy, charged. “Ha-eun,” he said, lowering his voice, “you don’t always have to follow the rules.” Her eyes widened. Was it a warning… or an invitation?
