(Rohit’s POV) It was supposed to be a quiet day. Just Denver Bhai and me. No guards. No backup. No fleet of black cars. We were investigating a trail — secret, sensitive. A lead about Aarav, the traitor we’ve been trying to hunt since that letter incident . The man who betrayed the Knight Syndicate. And possibly the one who wants Bhai dead. Only three people knew about today’s mission: Denver, Veer, and me. Everything was planned in shadows. Confidential routes. Secure tech. Ghost comms. Not even our inner circle knew. And yet… Someone found us. As we turned through a narrow side street, a flash caught my eye. Gun. Black gloves. Face covered. Aimed directly at Denver Bhai. “SNIPER!” I shouted, reaching for my weapon — But I wasn’t fast enough. Suddenly — she appeared. A girl, running like hell, launched herself between the gunman and Bhai. She shoved him hard. A gunshot cracked the air. Blood sprayed. Her scream cut through my ears like glass. The bullet hit her. She collapsed in front of us. A red patch soaking her white sleeve. “OPEN THE DAMN CAR!” Bhai shouted. The driver fumbled with the locks. Bhai didn’t even flinch. He scooped the girl up in his arms like she was made of porcelain and raced to the car. “She saved me,” he whispered. His voice trembled. “She took the bullet for me.” We rushed to the hospital. I held the door, made the calls. Locked down the alley. Every camera. Every street. No trace. No clue. When the doctors said she was stable — only a graze, no bullet inside — Bhai closed his eyes and exhaled. The weight of an entire empire seemed to fall off his chest. I asked for her details. Neha. Orphan. Lives with her best friend. Part-time designer. Normal life. Normal dreams. But there’s nothing normal about what she did. Bhai wrote her a note — something rare. He never expresses emotion on paper. That alone told me she had shaken something in him. When she woke up, I was the one sent to speak to her. “Hey there, braveheart,” I smiled. “You saved our boss today. That took guts.” She looked up at me, confused. “Is he alright?” That question right there — not about her own injuries, but about him — told me everything I needed to know about this girl. I drove her home after discharge. During the ride, I asked about her life. She said she had no family. Just Disha, her best friend. Her only constant. And maybe that’s what made her so fearless. Or maybe she was born that way. When we got to her place, Disha ran out to scold her, but burst into tears at the sight of her bandage. The way they hugged — it was raw. Real. It reminded me of the kind of bond we kill to protect in our world. Before I left, I gave Neha my card. “Anything you need, day or night — you call me,” I said. She smiled. A real one. And it hit me like a damn truck. She wasn’t just beautiful. She was unforgettable. Something about her felt like fire — and I knew I’d burn. --- Later That Night – Knight Estate I stood outside Veer’s office. He was storming through CCTV logs. His jaw clenched. Veer doesn’t show emotion unless something’s deeply wrong. “Rohit,” he said as I walked in. “Someone tipped them off.” “What?” “The alley where Denver Bhai was attacked. That was supposed to be a confidential route,” he growled. “Only three of us knew.” Chills ran down my spine. “Which means either someone’s listening…” I began. “Or one of us is leaking.” I didn’t respond. The silence said enough. "But from this second on — we’re changing the entire plan. If they know one thing, they might know more-Veer said.” “Do you trust me?” I asked. He looked me dead in the eye. “I trust you with my life.” That didn’t make me feel better. Because if it wasn’t me… and it wasn’t him… Who the hell is feeding information to the enemy? And more importantly… What if they’re already inside our walls?
