Chapter One: Crwogrove Hospital, 2023.

4291 Words
I awoke to a noise that sounded like something that was being tortured with some form of high pitched sound but no human noices called out in pain or agony. The sound was coming from a close distance. I looked towards my right where there was wide opening with a very large rectangular shape hovering outside of the opening that had one of it’s sides pointed towards me with the whole thing hanging outside of the clearing. I then saw people in colorful clothing running past my opening. Then suddenly a gorgeous light brown toned woman with these beautiful long medium thick locks that complemented her curvy frame made her all the more gorgeous, turned into the area I am in. She was talking into a brightly light smaller rectangular shape item when she abruptly stopped in the opening and out of nowhere started busting into tears and told the person on the other end to hurry and come over because she’s finally awake. I looked around to see who she was talking about when I looked out the left side of me I saw these things that showed the other side of the wall but kept the outside from coming in. I thought it to be a.magic forcefield or something. It was dark outside and that helped me see the other person she might be referring to. So I looked at her and back to the other woman and pointed to the other girl and asked, “her?” to which that made her stop. She had on a blank stare that quickly turned into concern. I realized then that she was talking about me, and I was in disbelief that someone like her would be her for me that's when I saw that there was no one else in the room I became confused that I started thinking to myself, “If she’s here for me then how come I don’t remember her? I wish I did because she’d be the perfect woman as my lover.” I paused for a moment to gather my thoughts. For that small moment I realized that she could be a friend who doesn’t run the same way or is in a relationship of her own at the moment. Then the gorgeous woman ran to me then hugged me. She had on a black leather diamond patterned stitched jacket with a gold zipper, a white blouse with a golden crown and writing that said ‘I was born a queen amongst people that takes me for granted’ on it. Her pants were also black with golden swirl patters as well as black shin boots that had the same diamond pattern stitching and golden zippers on the inside that matches her jacket. She pressed on her magical item placed it in her jacket pocket and as I began to wonder how I knew those things about her clothing she started towards the opening calling for the people outside of it saying that I had woken up as she stood just stood there waiting. As quickly as the others had gone pass before two people rushed in with colorful clothing but one of them had on a white robe. As he entered through the opening he asked the woman to wait outside he motioned the big rectangular shape thing sealing it in place then approaching me as I looked out at the longer and thinner rectangles beside me and saw me looking back at me. They tried to ask so many questions that I ended up pulling my legs closer to my chest with my arms pressed against the outside of my knees. I felt my long wavy brunette hair falling over my hands as I had lowered my head to rub my temples. As they kept trying to ask questions my head began to hurt a lot more and was only getting worse. Their words began to muffle into a swarm of noise and I started screaming flailing my arms and hands around trying to swat away the noise but it didn’t work. Both of the people were at my sides, one at each side, to try and restrain me, so I don’t cause any harm to myself or any others. All I could remember after that was when thay were finally able to hold me down and one in the white robes got someone else to enter to hold me arm and they stuck something in my buttcheck that made me just blacking out. When I opened my eyes again I was in a chair and there was this old man with an eye patch. He was standing in front of a bird cage feeding his pet bird. Then outt of nowhere a second guy chuckled. “He is begging to remember now.” To which the older man fiercely directed the other guy out shaming him for mispronouncing someone that I could tell who so when I looked around and saw no one and looked back to where the other guy once was I also saw he was no longer there as well. Then the older guy said, “I apologize for that encounter you had to witness. His ignorance is something I've been trying to work on since about three centuries now. I do not know where he gets it from but I assure you I do not share the same intolerances. But now to the reason you are here. You have come to find out that there are somethings that are coming back to you quicker than other things. Then there are somethings that are not. I know it will be frustrating at first but I can promise you that in your case it will get better. Now we do not have a lot of time so I will finish with this. The thing you must remember is that while you are recovering you must not try anything rash. Though for you I am sure it will be harder to do like always but this time it I get vital to get enough rest before the coming storm that is approaching. Now come my mistress I shall escort you to the plain where the dreams of happiness is made.” And with that he grabbed my arm wrapped his around my hand after standing me up and led me to a spring filled medow that had a harp playing angel and spring time wildlife prancing, galloping, running and everything in between as if they were dancing with joy. I sat there in the medow smelling the flowers that he bloomed. The sweet scent of lily’s and carnations calmed me. The older man was standing there in the medow at first smiling at us. It seemed he was waiting with joy to see the end of this dream he has given me to see my surprised looked when he looked up and his face turned to complete and utter shock and fear. When I looked up I could see what has made him so scared. The skies that were blue with wonder had turned black and the clouds that used to be so white they looked like pillows or cotton floating in the ocean turned gray and began to pour heavily with rain. Then from the middle of the sky something was beginning to twist and turn which began to suck in the clouds and made a vortex that opened in the middle of that. Then something made it’s way through. It wiggled at first struggling to come out then once it's head was out it weaved side to side, up and down as if it were a snake. Then it spoke, “I finally found you Andreath! I knew you were still alive ! My minions have tried their best to reassure me you had been defeated those many years ago but I knew better. I knew you were not going to be that easy to kill. However, I now know where you are and I figured out a way to finally end you for ever! And this time… YOU WON’T ESCAPE!” He begins to twist and turn spinning around and around treating a gust of wind so strong it starts to pick me, every woodland creature, the old guy and the angel playing the harp up as he’s maniacally laughing. Then as we are in the air his head turns to face us and I can see that this thing is a snake… That it is much worse. This creature is so frighting that the the black smoke and purple embers beneath that only heightens the terror in my soul when I look in it blue eyes that seem to be on flames as well. It is as if the fires of agony, sorrow and sin are looking at me… Targeting me. Like everything I hold dear to myself will be ripped away from me the longer I stare into them but the blue flames are so enticing I do not want to look away. It is as if I'm in a trance and I am slipping into madness. Then I feel like I have gone limp. My body has given up though my mind is still fighting. My will is still here but my body lost all connection with my brain. And this beast, this surpent… No, this Dragon, knows I have been caught in it’s trap so he snarls at me with black smoke coming from his nostrils and his mouth opens as he heads towards me with violent intent. His teeth are yellow but glistening even in the absence of light. His breath reeks of death. It is the smell of a proud animal that sees no problem in killing whatever it sees as his next meal. His tongue is a forked red thin piece of ribbon and uses it to licks my face. He reaches out with a talon that has claws sharp enough to skin or gut any living thing with ease. As it wraps it's claws around me I began to shine brightly. So brightly in fact that I was able to break free from my bonds by blinding the beast. In a fit of rage the dragon c****d his head and neck back, smoke and flames began to seap through his bare teeth but the flames weren't blue like his eyes. They were purple like the embers of his scales. he charged up his flames and shot them out at me. On instinct I converted the light aura that's around me into a white and yellow swirling ball of flames and launched it right back at him. in the moment they collided I saw a new dragon. This Dragon had suns, stars, planets and moons moving around it and inside of it. This Dragon however seemed peaceful. The vision was gone as fast as it came. The Beast that is floating before me sneers at me and growls. Glaring into my eyes and by reflex I blinded him again and he roared so loudly it shock me to my core. I fell to the ground and found out that the greenery was ripped up due to the violent windstorm. The old man ran over and picked me up again but this time he lifted me. “We’ve got to get you somewhere safe.” he said while huffing and puffing as he ran while talking. “I will try and see how that dragon found you and how…” he stopped eruptedly looking at passage way. “I believe we have found your exit my lady. Please forgive me for this but there is no time. Please brace yourself for I am about to throw you.” I looked at him like he better not but he then began to count down from three. I tensed my body and braced myself for impact. When I came back to it was day time and saw that gorgeous woman sitting in the chair next me on my right side she was talking to the doctor that had come in with the third degree. Then I saw the doctor walking towards me with a smile. I was curious about why but also it set my mood at ease a little. She walked around and stood at the foot of my bed and I could see she had on blue scrubs under her white doctors overcoat with her stethoscope around her neck. Her smile was perfect and white like those of the movie stars from Hollywood. She had dirty blond hair pulled from the left to the right with volume as if she wakes up every morning like a goddess that doesn’t get bedhead. For the typical girl, she would be the hottest woman in the world but apparently I wasn’t the typical girl cause whereas I can see her I don’t find her attractive at all. I wonder if it’s because I don’t care much about dating or if I just don’t pay any attention to what people look like on the outside rather than what a person feels and acts like from the inside. I was so deep in thought that I didn’t realize that doctor perfect here was trying to get my attention when suddenly two other people burst into my room. When these two new people came into my room the doctor tried to get them to calm down and exit the room. The middle-aged woman who was crying while trying to get past her demanded that she stepped aside, so she could see her child while the man on her side was also trying to calm her down while trying to negotiate about if she could let her pass things might calm down but that wasn’t helping at all. They were making such a ruckus that security had to come over and assist the situation while trying to escort them out and the woman went to help calm things down. After a little while someone came knocking at the door and opened it. I then saw the woman with the fashionably good taste poking her head in. Her skin is like light coffee with beautiful Island girl locks that really complements all of her features. She has a little heavy set frame and build, but she looks really gorgeous. Her smile was so beautiful it lights up the room immediately. She gently cleared her throat then spoke. “Can I come in?” She asked politely and I nodded. As she came in she placed her hands in her pants pockets as she stood waiting for the door to close. When it finally did I got so curious as to why she was just standing there smiling, so I asked. “Wouldn't you like to sit down?” She grinned and asked, “Do you mind if I do?” I managed a smile and reassured her saying, “I wouldn't mind it at all.” I extended my hand to the chair next to me. She came over to the right side of my bed and sat in the chair. When she sat down and then looked at me, I noticed she has these deep brown eyes that I couldn't help but get lost in them for how beautiful and mysterious they are. She leaned in and look at me for a bit then said something to me that took me by surprise. “How are you doing? We were all scared you'd never wake up.” Confused I asked her, “What happened to me?” She sat back and blinked her eyes in a little shock. She took a minute to compose herself and asked, “You don't remember what happened?” I responded with the truth. “I'm sorry, but no. I don't really remember who I am or who you are...” and after I said that I looked down because I was afraid to look at the disappointment and hurt that could be in her eyes. I wasn't sure why I cared that much about this woman who seem to care a lot about me when I don't remember what she means to me, but I got this strange feeling that I just made her night even worse. She then took a deep breath and exhaled slowly and with a voice so firm but warm she had me looking up at her in two point five seconds and when she had my attention she looked me right in my eyes and I could tell she was trying to comfort me the best way she could. She looked at her phone then back up at me as she took another deep breath then sighed. “Okay, look...” she began as she held my right hand while a single tear started to form. “My name is Cho and the folks that are in the waiting room want to know how you are doing so just try and answer their questions as honestly as you can and they'll leave you alone if things get too difficult, alright?” I looked at her with some concern on my face I'm sure because she held back a chuckle while looking down then cleared her throat once again and looked back up and offered an explanation. “Doctor Pulse said she's seen these types of situations before. In some rare cases where someone has been hit in a car accident the victim could temporarily have amnesia but there's a great chance it won't be permanent. All you got to do is try your best to remember what you can but if not you don't need to worry or stress over it.” When she was done giving me the quick run down I felt like that was a lot to take in, but I was glad she gave me a light at the end of this tunnel I am in at the moment, so I nodded. “Good,” she replied with a smile. “When I let them in and see you just stay calm, and I'll be here with you through it all, if you think that’ll help.” Looking up at her, I could tell that she truly wants to help, so I nodded again because that's all I can come up with for a response for now about her question and waited as she got up and headed out to let in those other people. After she left I prepared myself to answer the simple answers the best way I could and with the answers I didn't know I'd just admit that I don't remember them. The thing I'm more concerned about is hurting these people that Cho said who's concerned about me. When the door opened up again with those two following in behind Cho as she held the door open for them the woman that I had been crying before who was asked to leave was big-boned but shorter than Cho. She has long brunette hair just like mine and her teeth were white as well. She held a tissue to dab her eyes as tears started to form as she came over to my bed and sat in the chair on the right side of me and held onto my right hand with her free hand while she had a used wet tissue in her other from dabbing her tears away. Not only that, but she tried to come up with a smile. The man who's beside her was teary eyed as well, but he wiped them away with his hands and pinched between his eyes. When he exhaled he did so slow and gently as to try and not to let his emotions stir up the room. After they came in Cho closed the door and came around to the left side of my bed. After a brief moment the woman that sat in the chair next me swallowed and cleared her throat then spoke to me. “Hey Sarah.” She said grinning at me the best way she could. “How are you feeling?” I looked at her and noticed that she was wearing a pink, blue and white shirt that had a woman's face on it and something written as well but with the way she was sitting I couldn't see what it said. Looking at her eyes I could tell she was sad but something else was weighing down on her mind as well. So to comfort her a little I told her how I felt in this type of situation. “I'm feeling alright.” I responded with, but I didn't want to push it, so I just left it at that. When she looked at me with those teary eyes and just holding my hand tighter I thought she might've lost it right there, but she kept herself together, and I noticed that she's a strong-willed woman. The male who had been standing behind her moved up a bit and when he spoke I could tell he cares about my well-being cause his eyes were red from crying and worrying and in a soft tone he said with a warm smile; “We're so glad to see that you made it back to us.” I couldn't understand why I have these uncertain emotions about him, but I was glad to know he cared about me, so I gave him my best smile I could and said that I appreciated that he and the woman sitting next to me was here by my side. As we all sat there and before anyone else could ask me anything there was a knock on the door and as it opened the doctor known as Doctor Pulse came in to introduce himself, “Hello everyone, my name is Doctor Jasmine Pulse and I will be Sarah's doctor for the night.” She said with a warm voice tone. “I'm sorry to interrupt folks, but it is almost time for visitations to be over and Ms. Sarah here needs some attention from us, so we can draw blood and run tests to check to see how healthy she is.” She gave us all a big smile as she walked up to the foot of my bed again. Turning her attention to me, she asked the same question the woman who's still sitting beside me did, and I gave him the "I feel alright" response. He looked at me with a grin and clasped his hands together then said, “That's good. Now are you feeling uncomfortable, Anxious, stressed, etc.” I thought about his question for a bit and just shook my head. Doctor Pulse just smiled and said, “Well that's good to hear. Then that's it for right now until the nurses come in to take your blood, and we'll see what happens tomorrow.” We all watched as he left the room. When the door closed the door everyone looked at their phones and then the woman that was sitting next to my bed got up. I was able to finally read what her shirt said, but she broke my concentration because she wanted my attention one last time before she left. “If you need anything dear just have the doctors or nurses call me. They have my phone number on file as well as his...” she said while pointing her thumb at the guy that's been holding her hand when she got up. I gave them the best smile I could and nodded at them and as they began to head out the door the guy stopped and turned to me. In his warm subtle voice he asked; “Would you mind if I stayed outside to ask you a question after your friend there leaves?” I didn't know what to say, so I just said, “Yeah, that's fine.” So he went out and waited by the door with that woman by his side. When the door closed I looked over at Cho who was still holding my hand and smiling at me. Then she let go and walked around the bed. I couldn't help but feel like after she let go I felt it was abruptly, and it hurt me to my soul. Then she sat in the chair that she and the other woman had and kept smiling at me. It made me feel loved and warm inside for some reason, but I didn't mind it. In fact, I wished it didn't end. Then around what seemed like an eternity at first when in all actuality it was about two minutes or three she looked at her phone which reminded me there was a time limit now, so I just spoke first to see what I could get out of her. “So what's gong happen next?” I asked. “Well we will just have to wait and see when the doctor says you can be discharged.” At that moment I was struck with sadness because I wanted to see if I could get her to say I can go with her because I felt like we are meant to be together. I did want to try and persuade her to let me go home with her, but I didn't wish hurt her or cause her to hate me in case she is just a friend that only sees me as only a friend. So as she got up she gave me a hug, wished me a good night and sweet dreams and I too wished her all the same. She then left with her beautiful smile that I’m loving so much.
