Chapter 6: The Waterfall

Orin’s pov (continued)

I had already finished the school day. Deciding to go searching for something cool, maybe if I find something I can show it to Kaylie! Wait hold up what now? Why can’t I get her out of my mind? She’s like a drug, oh no. I’m addicted. Pulling my phone out and plugging my earphones in, putting one in and blaring Revenge by Xxxtetacion, checking the time noticing it was 4;03 p.m. I decided to walk around the forest a bit since I had time before I had to go back home, walking a bit into the forest seeing a few interesting rocks when I heard it, the most angelic laugh created by only a goddess, Kaylie’s here!! Oh no. Eh I decide to also just keep walking until i find her, i hope she’s not with that one guy. I still don’t know his name. “Luke OMG no!” is what I heard her say followed by another laugh. So his name is Luke, huh. I wonder if they're dating if they are, he is so dead! What woah- hold up self.

     Soon I see her with Luke, ugh, and his arm around her with the two sitting on a log together both had bookbags meaning they had come here and had been here for a bit. Also that one girl is there too, but she’s sitting on a rock directly across from them, this must be their hangout. “So Chloe, Kaylie, you two wanna go to another party this weekend? I heard that Jack Harlem is having a party tonight. Wondered if y'all wanted to go? So?” he asked “Yeah sure!” Chloe and Kaylie replied in unison and then started laughing because their twin like answer. That was kind of cute. Deciding to reveal myself I stepped out Chloe screamed a little. Walking right past them Kaylie stopped me by saying “Hey Orin, you know we could hear your music a mile away, what were you doing back there though? Eavesdropping?” she asked curiously. “Actually no, searching to find something worthy to be called cool.” was my reply, wow smooth (Note the sarcasm). “Well we’ve been all throughout these woods, the only thing that is ‘cool’ is the waterfall. It's more aesthetically pleasing than cool, you wanna come with me so I can show you it? Leave these two to talk” she said wiggling her eyebrows at the two.

     So as we were walking we stayed in a comfortable silence till we heard water rushing. We picked up the pace till we reached the waterfall, like she described it was absolutely beautiful. Feeling bewitched and dazed I slowly approached the sight in front of me seeming content Kaylie slowly approached it too at the same pace as me we both sat down on a log down beside the waterfall that shines bright with sparkling blue, orange, and white waters shing from the sun coming through the surrounding beautiful trees with yellow, red, green, and orange leaves and cool looking ledge-like rocks with most growing in the direction of North. Wanting to break the icy silence I said “Hey, so I kind of was eavesdropping but not on purpose. Do you mind if you guys go to the party I join you? I need to get out of the house before my mom drives me crazy” “Oh sure, you can go. I'll send you my address. I’m sure Luke nor Chloe will mind, Chloe will be driving unless you want to drive?” she replied
