Chapter 3: The Party

     As we pulled up to Henry M. Gunn High School I noticed it was awfully big and a little intimidating making me think I'm not going to pass school here but soon realized the classes seemed very easy. I even managed to make a friend after a week or 2, Luke Grene, Chloe and Luke got along great. They even like like each other and see they’ve been friends I guess since kindergarten and both like each other but haven’t told one another, only told me. But it is great to finally have more than one friend to share secrets with after moving from Illinois, I never really had friends there since I wasn’t the let’s have a conversation type I always kept to myself. But I decided on a different place, a different attitude, and a different look. I now go for a bit more revealing attitude and clothing than in Illinois where all I wore were long sleeves and only kept to myself  afraid if I revealed too much my parents would find me and demand I come back ‘home’. After a while the only thing I remember about them was that they hated me.

    “Kaylie, Kaylie, KAYLIE!!!!” I didn’t realize that I had zoned out. Us three were sitting at a table at the cafeteria they were talking to each other last time I remember but I guess the conversation went to me. “Yeah? Sorry zoned out.” was my excuse for not listening which was true “Yeah we know we’ve been calling you for a minute now, we wanted to know if you wanted to go to a party with us tonight?” asked Chloe. “Oh sure I don’t know anyone but yeah sounds like it might just be a little fun.” was all i had to say for Chloe to screech and jump out of her seat making everyone in the cafeteria look at her scrutinizing her and wondering why she screeched. Soon though everyone went back to what they were doing thankfully, and soon she sat back down saying I needed to go shopping with her to find a good party dress, which I reluctantly accepted and she seemed even happier to have some girl time quite frankly I was a little too. 

      While Chloe and I were shopping Luke was saying which he liked on us and which ones he didn't like, soon running off to go find what he thought was the perfect party outfit. Soon I found a perfect black with white cocktail dress and Chloe found a very cute all-white jumper dress while Luke found a long black sleeved button up with dark blue boot cut jeans. When we all got back to Corbin and I’s house we all went to my room, me and Chloe changing in my room and Luke changing in my bathroom that was connected to my room since I was a little shy around guys. Luke knocked on the door practically asking if he could come out which we both said yes in unison ready for us all to see what we were wearing. He came out looking mighty fine if I may say but Chloe was the one drooling, He looked at us and said “Dang ladies you sure clean up well. Even though I know that's without makeup, you ladies look lovely! Definitely ready for this party!” After our share of compliments Chloe and I added our makeup which for me was concealer, foundation, blush, winged eyeliner, white eyeshadow, and mascara. For Chloe it was concealer, foundation, blush, winged eyeliner white and black eyeshadow, mascara, with little jewels to go near her eyes. We both decided one black pumps and Luke decided for shoe wear black Air force 1’s. Soon after we got on our shoes we heard the front door open and I went running to who I knew for sure was Corbin getting home from work. Running into his arms over joyed he’s home this was our usual routine when he got home. “Hey princess, why so dressed up? Going somewhere?” he asked “Yes actually, going to a party with Chloe and Luke!” I stated “Oh this Luke, is he your boyfriend??” he slyly asked thinking he was being funny. “No but Chloe does have a crush on him and he has a crush on her so don’t ruin it!” I said firmly. “Okay okay you win, this time.” was his reply

       As we pulled up to the party the stench of alcohol and the blaring music almost made me walk away but Chloe insisted I go in and have a drink or 2, which I reluctantly did and let me just say it. was. AWESOME! We all got to have fun and meet new friends which Luke and Chloe already knew so I guess I made new friends and we all also got drunk and ended up not remembering much except I remember calling Corbin asking him to come pick us up and have a tow truck drive Chloe’s car to our place which he did, I think.
