Goodbyes

*Flashback* I made my way downstairs, finding Luna Rain having a cup of tea at the island in the kitchen. She look at me and smiles, "Feel better now?" she asks. I chuckle, "Yes, I do, actually. I also wrote a letter for my .." I stop myself and shake myself off, "for Wells. Do you mind giving it to him whenever, after I'm gone?" I ask her. She gives me a questioning look and asks "Did you give em hell?" with a smile. I look at her a little shocked, "Huh?" I mutter. "Give em hell.. like, will it break his spirit? Make him feel like an ant under a shoe?" She clarifies. "Oh, yeah. I signed it with 'rot in hell', so it may not break his spirit, but I certainly needed to get it off my chest." I tell her honestly. She gets up from her seat and walks over to me, grabbing my shoulders and looking me directly in the eye. "You are so strong. You are an amazing mom, a fantastic friend and you deserve so much more than what the world has given you." She tells me as she pulls me into a hug, "I'm so proud of you, and I wish you all the luck in your future endeavors." We embrace for a few moments and I cry silently into her shoulder. When she pulls away I see she has water collecting at the corners of her eyes and she's wearing her classic smile. "I'm going to miss you Luna, I'll never forget your kindness, you truly are a perfect Luna." I tell her as we start to collect ourselves. Alpha Terrence walks into the kitchen shortly after, he probably felt Luna Rains emotions through their bond, being fated mates, they have an unbreakable bond. They share their emotions, their scents can calm the other down and I hear the mate tingles are very dreamy. Alpha looks at me and nods, "I wish you all the best, Moral. When you get to the outskirts of the packlands you need to denounce your ties to the pack, do you know how to do that?" He asks me, I nod at him and thank them both. They both give me questionable looks when I go to the pantry to retrieve my bags. "Why did you keep your bags in the pantry?" Luna laughs a bit at the absurdity. "I didn't want Wells to realise I packed my bags before I left." I tell her and her smile falters. "Oh, dear. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" she starts to apologize but I cut her off, "No, Luna, the pantry is quite an odd place to hide things, you're not wrong for finding the absurdity in that." I tell her, hugging her once more. As I start dragging the bags to the door, an omega runs up and grabs all of my bags to bring them outside, he tries to grab the kitchen bag andy purse from me as well but I tell him I don't need help with them and remember the kitchen bag is full of Wells' things I planned to give to the Alpha and Luna to do as they please. "Oh, Alpha, Luna" I turn back to them. "This is some of the things I found in the safe, I don't know what the black bottle is, nor did I read his journal, but it looks like he has multiple IDs, maybe something to look into.." I tell them while handing them the kitchen bag. They thank me once more and as we are saying our final goodbyes I hear the familiar voice of my best friend, angrily stomping into the packhouse "Where is he?!" She stops when she sees me "Moral! I've missed you" she pulls me into an embrace. "I've missed you too Sheera." I tell her as I give her a big hug. Her smile slips from her face, realising we have an audience. "Oh, Alpha, Luna, nice to meet you both." She bows slightly and continues "I mean you no disrespect, but where is that piece of s**t so called wolf, my best friend stupidly chose to be her mate?" She asks them point blank. I clap my hand over my mouth and look at her incredulously. Sheera looks at me "What? I said no disrespect. Besides, I've been looking for a new throw rug and that Mutt will do just fine." She says, shrugging her shoulder. The Luna laughs and extends a hand to Sheera to shake "That was refreshing! You are quite fierce, Sheera." As Sheera takes the Luna's hand, she pulls Sheera in, whispering something quickly into her ear and winking at her. Sheera smiles smugly and turns back to me "So, where's my little nephew?!" She squeals. I'm all packed into their car, baby is safely nestled into his carseat, I'm clipped in next to him, with Sean in the drivers seat. The Luna calls for Sheera one last time and Sheera tells us she'll be right back, as she has to use the washroom before we get on the road. I smile at her and she takes off sprinting up the steps of the packhouse to the Luna, who guides her inside. Sean and I make small talk, assuming this is only going to take a few moments, however I start to get a little agitated when Sheera still hasn't come back after twenty five minutes. I look to Sean who's in a daze, probably mind linking with someone, I wait until his eyes clear then ask him "What's taking Sheera so long?" He smiles an odd smile and says "Oh, it's nothing to worry about, Sheera was just asked to deliver some news or something to someone and she was very happy to do that for the Luna." he tells me, the smile still tugging at the corners of his mouth. The letter. She's definitely delivering your letter to Wells. I would assume it will also come with her own message though. Celeste tells me with a dark chuckle. My eyes widen and my heart races. "What if she gets hurt? What if he hurts her?! How are you so calm about this?!" I ask Sean in a panicked tone. He starts laughing and I glare at him, once he notices my glare, he tries to calm himself but accidentally snorts and starts laughing even harder. "I'm sor-"snort "sorry Moral. But Sheera is just fine. Wells is chained with silver, for one thing, and for another, you clearly haven't seen her fight when she's angry. My girl has got this, I promise." He tells me, although it's not calming my nerves any. After another ten minutes I start to undo my seatbelt so I can go get her and I see her in the doorway of the packhouse waving goodbye to the Luna, a huge grin plastered on her face. Her knuckles are stained with blood, but the purple bruising is already healing. "How's my girl?!" Sean asks her enthusiastically. She smiles at him and chuckles. " Well, I broke my hand on his face." She starts laughing maniacally as Sean starts the car and drives from the packhouse. I wave a small goodbye to a smiling Luna and Alpha on the steps as well peel out of the drive. The drive was going to be a long one, and considering Sheera had no boundaries, the silence didn't last long at all. "I know this may be too soon babes, but have you thought about changing your little nuggets name? I don't want to call him by the same trash name as his biological sperm donor." She blurts out before we even leave the pack gates. I chuckle mildly at her blunt attitude but respond with "How about we brainstorm baby names AFTER I denounce my ties with the pack and the "sperm donor" as you so beautifully put." She throws up her hands in surrender and tells Sean to 'step on it.' We stop on the side of the road, just outside the Bloodmoon Pack's Territory, I unbuckle and get out of the car, walking to the tree line, I stop, take a deep breath and say the magic words into the wind. "I, Moral Alina Blacke, denounce all ties to the Bloodmoon Pack, declaring myself a rogue from here to a new pack of my choosing." I feel the pack slowly leaving my mind, I hear soft howls in the distance, there's no heartbreak though, no sadness, only well wishes and regards. I take another deep breath and continue. "I, Moral Alina Blacke, Reject the mate bond I share with Wells Wahl, previous Beta to Bloodmoon Pack." I feel a pain in my chest as the mate bond breaks, but it's nothing in comparison to the pain of him cheating on me for the past year. After another deep breath and silent goodbye, I turn back towards the car and we head off towards Crescent Band Pack.
