Dad immediately turned down the volume and walked over to greet them. “Jesus, Nash.” He shook his head and opened his arms for what Nash hoped would be a gentle hug. “You’re the biggest weird-s**t magnet I’ve ever known.” Nash knew better than to think the frowning face on his father reflected actual displeasure at seeing him.
