A Taste Of Secrets

My hands trembled as I received an admission from the university I had always dreamed of. University of Texas. I swallowed down tears that were trying to run down. I can't believe I would ever be able to get admitted into that kind of school. My hands itched I needed to find way to show how happy I was. I stood up from the sofa and walked into the kitchen. Having a kitchen and going out to eat. Weird. I began to get the ingredients ready. I need to get to set the table before he returns. " Welcome back." I said smiling from one side to the other. " You've no right to watch this." He said putting off the TV. My heart skipped a beat. I was just enjoying the moment. And now he's trying to disrupt it. " Why would you do that?" He ignored my question and walked up the stairs. I followed him up and pushed open the door to his room. " You aren't staying here tonight. " I heard him say. " Why! I thou....." " Don't act like you don't know the rule. " I snapped my fingers. " I'm tired of your uncomfortable rules." " Then leave." I took in a breath. I was supposed to thank him for the admission and not argue with him. " I..I..I'm grateful...for the admission." I stammered. He didn't bother to reply me as usual. My eyes traced his steps into the bathroom. He was really terrible. The moment he walked in I heard his phone beep. Curiosity got the better side of me. I walked up to the phone and picked it up without thinking. My heart shivered immediately I read the message. " What the hell." The phone slipped down my hands. I held my chest and sat on the bed. What's going on. " What are you doing near my bed?" I didn't realise he was out of the bathroom. My lips trembled. I rose up to my feet. Suddenly he stopped talking and sniffed. " Are you cooking something. " I froze. If course I was. I flung open the door and ran down the stairs into the kitchen. The atmosphere was drastic but I was glad the meal wasn't all burnt. My hands shivered as I set the table. I couldn't forget the message. " Set?" I heard him say as he walked down the stairs. My eyes widened in shock. I thought we were both in a difficult situation few minutes ago. Perhaps older women were right. A meal is the key to a man's heart. " Yes." I replied softly. He drew out a chair and sat. His expression changed the moment I opened the plates. " My favourite. " He said with a smile. I drew out a chair and sat on the other edge of the table. " Thank you for granting my wish of returning back to school." I said. He shrugged and continued with the meal. I could guess he was enjoying the meal. " Do you know who I miss most." He said breaking the silence. " Who?" " My twin sister." " You have a twin sister?" " No. I had a twin sister. " " You had? What happened to her." He blinked and moved his gaze away from me. " I shouldn't have talked about her." I slightly nodded. " She was the only person I wasn't bored being with." He said. " And why did you talk about her." " Maybe because you remind me of her." My heart raced. " How?" " Your meal, your courage, your concentration, your smile, your beauty, everything remind me of her." I took in a deep breath and nodded in expectant of what he had to say. " And do you know the major thing you remind me of her." " What?" " Her smile. She had this perfect smile just like you." " Then I must say you got your beautiful smile from her." " No she got it from me. " He said. " She got it from you? " " Yes I once had that perfect smile people talk about. I was cool, calm and loving." " So what happened? " " Her death happened, Clara. " I stared at him. He looked dejected and really confused. He was really pouring out his mine to me. I needed to find ways to let him forget about her for now. A smile escaped my cheeks. " You know my name?" " Of course why won't I. " He replied calm. " But you've never called me that." " Same goes to you. " " I don't know what to call you. Is it Sir Adrian, Boss Adrian, Husband Adrian. I don't know. " " You should have tried one before you make that excuse." " Alright, Boss Adrian. " " No I'm fine with Adrian." " Adrian? That sounds odd." " Just call me that, Clara." " Alright fine." A smile surfaced his cheeks. He kept quiet focusing on my face. " If there's one thing I'd need in a woman. That should be her care. " I shrugged. " And I see that in you. " My hands shivered. " We're in a contract marriage." I quickly added. " Yes I know a contract marriage indeed." He stood up from his chair and walked towards me. My heart raced. " What are you trying to do." He bent down at my front. " What does it look like to you." I could hear the hard beat of his heart. " Can I kiss you?" My heart hitched. " I...I.." He gaze fell to my lips..he looked at me for permission and when I slightly moved my head. His lips melted into mine. His kiss showed nothing but urge and need. My lips parted finding it way responding to his kiss. I needed to stop but my body wanted more. I became anxious the moment he suddenly stopped. Maybe he just remembered the meaning of a contract marriage. But I was wrong he drew me in again and kissed me like we were in for a kissing competition This time it was sweeter, better and perfect than the former.
