Bonus Chapter
Meikah’s steps slowed as she approached her house. Kellan had offered to walk her home, but she’d declined. A few times she thought she’d caught a glimpse of someone following her, but she couldn’t be certain. There was a lot she needed to learn if she wanted to be a useful member of the Assassins Of The Dead. Did they have exams like the academies? And if they did, who tested them? She supposed she’d find out soon enough.
She stopped several feet from the front door, trying to bring herself to enter the house. Getting the lecture over and done with had to be better than waiting, but she couldn’t convince herself.
