Chapter 10: Approval

"A gentleman seduces his lady's mind before he even touches her body."

"Are you done?"

When I turned my gaze in front, Jaco's soulful gray eyes were the first thing I noticed. My insides fluttered just by the look of his eyes.

I've seen his intense stare at me, lips so red from his licking and his Adam's apple moving, highlighting his manliness.

One thing popped into my mind.

Damn! He's hot.

"Hmm yes Jaco. Let's go!" I answered after I finally recovered. I said it while smiling at him sweetly.

Today, I'm wearing one of my famous collections, an above-knee black sweetheart top dress. Not that revealing but perfectly hugging the curves of my body.

I wear light make-up on my face together with my favorite deep red lipstick. I also sprayed my favorite perfume and today, I even let my long wavy hair down.

I walked towards Jaco's direction as his dark eyes rounded on my body, then back to my face. His lips were slightly apart.

"You're so beautiful Amore," he said in a low husky voice while completely closing the distance between us.

He sighed heavily, then slowly his hand reached for mine, as if claiming his space.

My heart skipped a beat because of his words and actions.

"Thank you," I replied after a while. So soft, making it almost a whisper.

I bit my lower lip to get a hold of myself. I may look relaxed on the outside, but inside I am damn panicking.

Why is it suddenly so hard to breathe? Is it because of his presence or because of the way he looks and compliments me?

I closed the door of my office using my other hand before facing my secretary.

"Aria, please cancel and reschedule all of my meetings and appointments today. I have to do something very important," I told her, which she immediately obliged.

This is not the first time but honestly, walking hand in hand with Jaco felt so surreal. My heart was floating, and I don't even have a name for the sensation I'm feeling right now.

He softly caressed my palm using his thumb, making my cheeks flush red. I breathe heavily as my insides tremble and shivers run down my spine.

I hate how nervous I am around him. I hate how this is all new to me when I thought it shouldn't be. I have never, ever felt this way. Foreign feelings I was sure I couldn't handle. Only to him. Only because of him.

As always, Jaco looked incredibly dashing. He's wearing his usual gray business suit and black tie, partnered with black slacks and black leather shoes. His dark hair was combed neatly. His looks, tall and lean frame, authority, and the fluidness of his movements made him very masculine.

He's walking beside me confidently with his deep manly features, looking like those models from a men's magazine, drawing the attention of anyone curious.

I guess it's just too hard to ignore him, huh?

I noticed how my staff halted on their tracks, completely startled by his appearance. They are intently watching us stalking towards the lobby of the empire.

I also heard their soft murmurs, and I'm pretty sure that the topic was us. Probably guessing why this gorgeous man is holding the hand of their lady boss right now.

When we finally reached the parking lot, we stopped in front of a luxurious black car. Then he untangled our hands before he possessively snaked his left hand into the small of my back, pulling me closer to him. My heart immediately pounded so fast and hard.

"Do you think they'll like me Amore?" he asked breathily while looking straight into my eyes.

My lips twitch. Seeing him nervous for the first time just because he's meeting my grandparents completely warms my heart.

"I'm pretty sure that Abuelo and Abuela will like you," I said confidently just to assure him.

I noticed Jaco's stare lingered at me again, with eyes full of meaning and lips in a soft smile.

My breathing became heavy as his fingers grazed the soft sides of my face. Then my eyes fluttered closed when I felt him crouched just to gently kiss my forehead and my hair. I just love the fact that he's massive and very strong, yet he's always been so light and gentle with me.

The scent of his expensive perfume mixed with his own scent filled my nose. Hmm, he smells so nice too.

His very presence and the closeness made my heart beat way faster. If that's even possible. I closed my eyes tightly and sighed deeply. Wondering so much about how he can make me feel everything at all once.

But then suddenly, flashes of camera snapped me out of my reverie. I deeply sighed when I realized that the media paparazzi definitely caught our sweet moment. I know from then that it will be a big scoop for them.

Jaco immediately shielded and blocked me from their view before opening the door of the passenger seat. Then he gently ushered me to slide into his car.

And during our ride towards my grandparents' manor, Jaco kept on asking me questions about them. He's attentively listening every time I gave him my answers.

On the way, he even bought a bouquet of flowers for my grandmother and a bottle of expensive wine for my grandfather.

He's just so sweet and thoughtful.

My heart is softened just by the mere thinking that he is the first man who's very keen on winning my grandparents' approval.

A sweet smile slowly crept onto my lips.

I just realized that I am drawn more to him because of that.
