Chapter 22 Jett put the food he had picked up at the nearby market on the table. His apartment was the safest place he could think of for Madeline to stay. But it was a rental he had for only a week. His life was adrift. He was used to it, though, and was quite content with what he did. But the sight of her living in his apartment triggered all the memories and the dreams they had shared.
