Chapter 20

"This woman is very embarrassing" chioma said as She blushed.

She saw Patrick sitting on his bike holding an helmet.

"Sorry about my mum" chioma said.

"About what?,there’s no need to apologize, I think she’s cool" Patrick said

"Trust me she’s not…by the way am I going to school with you with this bike" chioma said

"Put this on" Patrick said as he handed her the helmet he was holding), we’re almost late hop in.

She collected it and strap it in,got on the bike but he didn’t move.

"Are you not going again" chioma asked

"Aren’t you going to hold my waist?,do you want to die?,look at other people" Patrick said as she looked around.

Chioma slowly strapped her hands around his waist and rested her head on his back,then he started moving

The same butterflies she felt before,she's beginning to feel it once more, she felt comfortable leaning on his back, she wish that this would last forever as she perceived the cologne on his shirt,she closed her eyes as she sailed to wonderland

"Are you sleeping" Patrick asked

She quickly opened her eyes.

"What?,are you not going again?,why did you stop" chioma said

"Look around, or you don’t know your school again" Patrick said

Chioma looked to the left and saw the school building

"Now now,this is fast" chioma said with surprise),did you fly, wish we should just go back from my house and start again(She said within herself

"Thanks for the ride anyway" chioma said as she came down and turned to leave),he stopped her

"What" chioma said (he pointed to her head),oh your helmet (chioma pulled it but it was stuck),he rolled his eyes as he got down and remove the strap.

'Thanks"(she said in embarrassment), as she ran into the building to join them at the assembly that just started.

She looked around and saw where patrick was parking his bike beside the security house

Few minutes later....

The principal came out for announcement…

"Good morning students, we we’re all shocked concerning what happened yesterday to a student of this school by the name emeka,well thank God he is getting better now but our punishment will still stand" The principal said

He stopped for a while….

"So I have decided to give the two victims involved in the fight before the accident a two weeks suspension" The principal added

"Emmanuel come outside" he instructed as emmanuel walked to the front from where he stood)

"Now take your bags and leave the school premises immediately" the principal said as he walked down and entered the building to take his bag),his rank was handed to the the assistant until he resumes and another assistance was chosen.

"He continued, now another complaint we have from the cleaners of the school was that they came to school this morning and found the door to the store room bursted open with the key spoilt,but we thank God nothing was stolen,if you know of anybody who might be responsible for that kindly report in my office, you can now all march to your classes" the principal said

Chioma walked up the stairs with Maryjane to their class,

"Mary jane pls I need to use the restroom" chioma said as she gave Mj her bag)

She ran down the hall before she pee on her body,by now no student was outside the school

She got neared the entrance of the restroom and saw a boy and girl kissing and blocking the door, she got closer to take a better look at their faces and saw that it was theresa and Emmanuel kissing.

They never noticed her presence until she spoke…

"Excuse me I want to pass" chioma said as they quickly separated themselves from the kiss.

"Am sorry" theresa whispered (as they shifted away from the door and walked away.

Chioma can’t believe emmanuel and theresa we’re in a relationship.

"No wonder I heard he was fighting emeka" chioma said as she finished peeing, she ran to her class and caught both of them in another corner hugging themselves in tears.

She really feel sorry for them…

Then she entered her class and walked to her seat before the teacher enters the class…

"Okay class bring out your bags"(the teacher says as he enters the class

During lunch.......

Maryjane and chioma are on their way to the cafeteria.

"Chioma haven’t you heard" mary jane said

"heard what" chioma asked

"The math teacher has been sacked" mary jane said

"it's a lie,you mean Mr rueben" chioma said

"yes,after they found out he was the one chasing emeka before that happened to him" mary jane said

"The way I hate that man,better he should go and work in filling station" chioma said as they entered the cafeteria.

Mary jane and chioma ordered their food and found an empty table to sit,for the first time mj became silent, she used to be the regular talkative

that keeps her company but since they started eating she barely touched her food.

"mary jane are you okay" chioma asked(no response) as she was deep in thought…mj?…mj?,mj(as chioma increased the volume of her voice)

"yes..yes" mary jane said as she jerked out of her thought

"Since I’ve been calling you,is everything alright" chioma asked.

"yes am fine,sorry I was just thinking" mary jane replied

"Thinking about what?,that you haven’t touched your food, pls talk to me am your friend" chioma said

Tears started dripping out from her eyes as she bow her head.

"Why are you crying"chioma asked as she shifted her chair close to her and held her shoulder),pls talk to me don’t let me cry pls…

She raised her head and looked at chioma in tears

"It about emeka,I still miss him, he was my first love even though his evil,I still see some good side in him even if he slept with you,and about the HIV stuff pls let go to the nearest hospital after school so you can do an HIV test" mary jane said

"what do you mean HIV test"(a voice said from behind.

They turned to look in shock and saw patrick holding his plate of food

"Chioma is this true" Patrick asked

She was speechless to respond….

"Actually am just going just in case" chioma said

"Who did you sleep with?, so you have unprotected s*x with emeka?,was that why you we’re crying the other day" Patrick said

"Oh pls just stop Patrick she didn’t sleep with anybody" mary jane said

People we’re beginning to stop what they we’re doing and listening to them

some we’re whispering among themselves…

"How could Patrick embarrass me in front of everybody?, now the whole school knows little about my s*x life" chioma said within herself

She picked up her bag and ran out of the cafeteria almost in tears, she located the girls restroom and ran into one of the doors and bursted into tears…

(Mary jane looked at Patrick with anger)

"you see what you have caused, just stay away from her" mj said as she picked her bag,hissed and ran out of the cafeteria to find chioma

"CHIOMA it me mj COME OUT" she said (as she knocked on the door), chioma quietly opened the door and peeped outside.

"I can’t believe patrick could embarrass me like that,how could he" chioma said(as she cried on mj’s shoulder.

"It okay,let just forget this ever happened and act normal" mary jane said as she patted her back.

"How can I forget?,the whole school already knows by now" chioma said

The bell suddenly rang as the whole students ran to their classes…

Mary jane and chioma waited for some minutes before they came out of the restroom, the hall looks clear now,they quickly ran to enter their class.

"THAT HER"(They heard a girl’s voice from behind), they continue running, “prostitute”…(the girl said again.

That word annoyed mj as she stopped and walked to the girl…

" Mary jane leave her let go"chioma said (as she pulled her wrist), leave me Chioma(she said)as she walked closer to her in rage

"Repeat what you just said now" mary jane said

"If I repeat it what can you do"(she replied),as their face came close together, mj could perceive the gum she was chewing

"you know what?,I don’t blame you, you that your p***y have turn to borehole, different boys have useless your future and infect you with STD,you’re calling another person prostitute"(she raised her hand to slap mj),mj was too fast as she caught her hand.

"If you dare touch me,if I don't naked you here now call me bastard" mary jane said.

WHATEVER (she said) as she walked away….

'Thank you mj"(chioma said) as they walked into class for the remaining papers..

Chioma noticed some stares as she walked to her seat but she ignored them.

After school.....

"Chioma let quickly go to the hospital emeka is"mary jane whispered

"But we don’t know the hospital the principal took him, how do we get there" chioma said

"I have an idea,cmon let go" mj said (as she dragged her out of the classroom)

They got to the door to the principal’s office…

"Wait here for me" mj said as she knocked),come in(the principal yelled) as she entered.

CHIOMA?(she heard her name from behind), she turned and saw patrick

"Did you come to disgrace me again,what do you want" chioma said (folding her arms)

"Chioma pls am very sorry about what I did at the cafeteria,it came as a shock to me,didn’t mean to say it out in public" Patrick said

"But you already did, so just leave me alone" chioma said(as she turned her back at him)

"Chioma pls believe me" Patrick said(as he walked to her front and drew closer to her),the look on his eyes made her melted,his pink lips made her salivate for a kiss

"I promise I will never do anything to hurt you again (he drew closer), she could feel his breath on her face, she stared at him like an i***t, their foreheads touched each other.

"Oh God I wish he could just kiss me now, let me taste his lips one more time" chioma said within herself

And their lips joined, she felt the butterflies in her bellies again as she returned the kiss,wish this kiss never stops.
